Free Flow Xiao Long Bao Steamboat Smile Feb 01, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum

It takes a lot of effort to finally have a meal here at the Holland V outlet! Their hotline is too difficult to get through to make reservation for the steamboat which is too popular. Finally I got through the line and I was offered a 10pm time slot for the steamboat. Thus, be sure to call in earlier to make advance reservation.

Okay, as we reached a lot of people are actually waiting outside to get directed to their tables - all for the FREE flow of Xiao Long Bao! smile

Once we are seated, the waitress immediately asked us how many Xiao Long Bao we want. Subsequently, most of the tables surrounding us were enjoying their Xiao Long Bao which really worth the trip and the effort.

This weird friend of mine actually ate the meat but left the skin.

As for the soup base we have the chicken and Ma La which is the wrong choice. The Ma La is too chili hot for us and end up we just stick to one side of the soup.

Overall: For the price less than $30, it is definitely worth a try and definitely the good deal for steamboat affair!

Domino's sure knows how to get its customers coming back for more with attractive creation on its menu every now and then and having various attractive promotions!

I received a SMS to redeem a birthday promotion - Buy 1 large pizza and get a regular for free (kinda good deal).

What's makes Domino's unique is their Xtra Large Pizza "15" and its GPS Tracker - so you actually can track which stage your order is at.

Hawaiian Pizza - all time favourite. The Xtra Large Pizza is real gigantic, both of us couldn't finish and it was breakfast for the next following day. Xrra Large Pizza is great for home/office gathering!

Tropical Sambal Prawn Pizza - Singaporean taste, super duper 'like'. The sambal sauce used is really well blended, not weird as it may seems to be.

I did some customization and change the red pepper to onion - you can have your pizza your style! On top of the toppings, you can choose the crust too - 4 options to choose from you can opt for extra thin or the cheese burst for the cheese lover.

Categories : Teochew | Seafood | Zi Char

My husband was introduced by his friend to this Zi Char place that serve reasonable price food and taste fairly well so he brought me here.

I was taken aback as the place is relatively huge and very crowded even during a Monday Blue! It was the decorations that really made it outstanding - very old school but warm. A few tables were being reserved in 10 seating. I would say quite a popular spot to book table for celebration or gathering.

They don't serve curry fish head though but that's Assam Fish.

He insisted of having the Herbal Prawn ($18.00) which he claimed to be a MUST try. I felt it was okay - not the signature dish.

Prawn Paste Chicken ($8.00) not that really fragrance, just lack that little kick.

Fu Rong Egg ($6.00) very home cook feel.

Prawn Roll ($8.00) the dish that is the outstanding one among the four.

Overall: A great place still, as we are a pair and there's a limit to what we order - it will be good if you go in big group. Service wise, don't expect much.

No 1 Thai Steamboat - MooJaa Smile Jan 31, 2013

Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Buffet | Mookata

MooJaa is relatively new but really one that is impressive! Moojaa pride itself to be the no. 1 Thai Steamboat place and it really did live up to its slogan.

The boss demonstrated hospitality very well throughout our meal, we felt it and it was one of the unforgettable experience. He asked a couple of questioned to survey and he's real friendly. He even went to the extend to help us placed all the ingredients into the pot and BBQ - kudos! Perhaps, we were the only customers then as we went in around 5+pm on a weekdays and got to enjoy the luxury of his service. smile

The table is specially designed with adequate depth and ventilation if you realize. So that the place is not so smoky and you don't stink as much with the BBQ smell.

We went for the buffet which cost roughly $30-$35 per person. What's special is they serve abalone and scallop!

All the ingredients are fresh and the meat is juicy and well marinated!

It is not plain rice BUT Chicken Rice! Another wow wow wow~ (impressed).

The portion of the meats serve are in small slices so it is not chunky and easier to cook plus it taste extremely nice!

After awhile, the soup taste really POWERFUL lah!

Overall: The place that definitely worth a visit!

I have read a lot of great reviews about The Ship Restaurant but have no chance as my husband is not a Western fan and he always dismiss my Western food craving. Finally the chance was here as I was having belated birthday celebration and I got to suggest The Ship Restaurant!

Their menu cover all ground, we were all at lost to pick our dishes. Serving staffs kept coming to our table to place our order and we only came to a decision the third time she approached us. We all had the set menu that is more value added with the soup of the day and dessert serves with coffee or tea.

On a side note, they have this on-going promotion: 50% when you dine between 3-5pm! *For more information, visit their website.

I didn't really like the soup of the day.

The oysters here is a MUST have! A dozen for just $12.90 or $12.00 and it is really juicy fresh!

Seafood Harvest (ordinary) - Not really impressive, by its name I thought I will be wowed away but end up mine is the smaller portion of all.

Grilled Chicken Chop with Mussels - look nice, no chance to taste.

I can't recall what's the name of this dish. My friend was saying the portion is too much for her to finish. Thus, if you are really hungry this is the dish to order! smile

This should be the Bake Chicken which I love the most! I should have order this for myself instead of ordering for my husband. HA! The cheese wasn't cheesy and I just love it!

Overall, we felt very hurried by the serving staffs - they just kept asking "Can I clear?" when we are not really done. I know they want to minimize the waiting time for other customers but it just felt like we are being chase.

Well, I will still visit but during off-peak hours to really enjoy and appreciate the food.
