The Nicest Crab Bee Hoon Smile Dec 28, 2011

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

In the past, they used to form queue right in front of the restaurant. Thus, when I reach there about 6 something I was so elated to see no queue form right in front. But to my horror, the queue was already form at the side this time round.

We really waited for 1 whole hour for the food to come! That's the price to pay when you want good food!

Thankfully we had the Sour Plum drink to keep us cool while waiting...

If I am not wrong the Crab Bee Hoon is $45, add additional Bee Hoon is $3, add soup and Bee Hoon is $5. The soup base is just beyond words to describe which is why so many people still take the time to wait. The Crab Bee Hoon serving can serve up to 3 bowl and the additional Bee Hoon is the same serving of 3 bowls too. I will advise if you are adding Bee Hoon, might as well top up the soup as the Bee Hoon is a bit tasteless when order without the soup.

Salted Egg Prawns $20

Not worth ordering as there isn't much taste when you remove the shells.

If you want to avoid queuing, ring them up for take away BUT self-collection!

I don't know if the Koi fever is over, the outlet I went to has no queue surprisingly. Thus, I happily ordered my drink. A scan at their menu, I picked Ovaltine and Fresh Milk Tea something I have yet to try and I am not a Koi fan personally.

2 drinks for $6.50 or $6.80, to me I feel it is up the market and I just couldn't figure out why so many people take away more than 2.

I prefer the Ovaltine than the Fresh Milk, maybe it is the sugar level. As I wasn't a fan of Koi I thought 50% will be enough but well, for a sweet tooth it is not adequate.

Mee Sua Smile Dec 27, 2011

This is the place I will go to for Mee Sua. It is simple yet please my stomach, it is sour at the same time a little sweet. The mixture of the chicken and oysters just keep you treasure hunting in the sea of Mee Sua.

Moreover, it is difficult to spot stalls selling Mee Sua.

Not The Usual Hor Fun Smile Dec 27, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Restaurant | Zi Char | Kids-Friendly

Out of goodwill, my sis bought me Hor Fun for dinner and she claimed that it is very nice and insisted me of having it.

From the look, it wasn't those dark sauce Hor Fun. Their's look much healthy as it is those kind of clear sauce. True enough, the sauce is great - sweet.

Just that the Hor Fun is a little burnt.

If not it will be perfect!

Solid Bak Kut Teh! Smile Dec 27, 2011
Categories : Bak Kut Teh

With Song Fa being a little disappointing lately, Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh impress me and when I think of having Bak Kut Teh I will definitely patronize Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh!

If not for my manager treat, I don't think I will get the chance to try Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh. Comes lunch time, this place is filled with White Collars.

The Bak Kut Teh is flavoursome, one that you will definitely come back for more. The salted vegetable is of the right bite and taste. The intestine doesn't taste awful at all and the You Tiao is quite crispy. All in all, nice place for Bak Kut Teh!

It is a waste that I didn't capture the interior design as my manager was presence and I couldn't ignore his existence. It is not coffee shop style, but has some degree of classic and simple.
