I Really Love This Place! Smile Feb 15, 2014

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Buffet

When my girlfriend and me sat down at one of the table, I saw the person next to our tables had coupon deal for their buffet dinner (Ala Carte Chinese Buffet: $19.90 for One Pax at Supreme Tastes Jiang Nan Cuisine in Marina Square Worth $29.90).

I realised that I forgot to browse the Internet before calling my girlfriend to head on over to this place and feast on for our dinner during this special day. Most people know this day as Valentine's Day. This year, this date is also the 15th day of the first lunar month (or Chap Goh Meh in Hokkien).

The food that we ordered are as follows:
Cold Home-made Tofu with Century Egg

The variety of dishes from the province of Jiang Nan in China is good includes Dim Sum, Handmade Ramen and others. I'll definitely visit this place again because it located at the newly renovated Level 2 of Marina Square called the Dining Section. Service good, but food might be limited because they restricted time to consume all within 90 minutes.

It's been a long time since I went Bugis. There were lots of changes. My girlfriend found this restaurant when I was walking along the corridor to find a place for dinner.

I was attracted by the deco and signboard of the restaurant due to it's colourful and the word "nonya" just catched my attention. I have long want to try nonya food.

Firstly, I found that not much of variety being served and felt a bit of disappointment.

However, the food taste good when I aet their Assam Fish and Nonya Chap Chai. In fact, it could hardly taste spicyness in it.

Some food I had tried were Chicken Chwee Kuey (it was pretty nice surprisingly, and the filling was quite tasty too). The laksa is hot and tastes the best there.

I was enticed into eating the colourful Nonya kueh-kueh that pleased my eyes.

This small restaurant is simple looking and neat.

After visiting this cafe, both of my girlfriend and me are quite ok and happy. I hope those people who read this review will bring along your friends and family to dine in on all occasions.

FYI: Chilli Padi has established itself as a well-known brand name for providing food that tastes great.

Chai Ho Satay Hall Smile Jun 03, 2011

Satay

Satay

My property assistant and I wanted to have our dinner before 1st Council Meeting of 8th Management Council held at Multi Purpose Room 2 of Block 50N Faber Heights #01-92 Faber Crest Singapore 129207 on 2 June 2011 8.00 p.m.

The queue of this hawker is extremely long and everybody is waiting patiently for their turn, so I joined in the queue to see for myself what's so special.

I immediately placed an order of 10 sticks of Lamb Satay, but the server told me that they did not have stock, so I have to order 5 sticks of Pork Satay and 5 sticks of Chicken Satay during my turn.

I do not really like eating rice cake. That's why, you cannot see that item in my attached photograph.

This is one of the most popular store at Clementi Central because they also sell "Bak Kwa" (Dried Pork) and Pork/Chicken Floss which opens daily.

The tasty juicy chicken & pork meat is fresh and cheap (only 38 cents per stick) & their succulent satay are served with their unique & tasty pineapple-based satay sauce in the west that comes with it is thick and rich enough for most. Nothing can beat the Best COMBO of good satay with good satay sauce. That explained why their daily customers queue are so long.

I enjoyed the chunk of peanuts in the thick peanut sauce.

At first, I thought the best satay will be the Malay stall. After visiting this stall that is owned by a chinese couple, I discovered that the standard is equally good.

I hope that you can trust me by reading my review and give yourself a try of the satays.

Buffet Dinner

Good service and nice decor to be commented on this caterer because everything was well prepared while I came out from the lift to attend LawWorks Legal Primer in NTUC Centre Level 8 last evening 7.00 p.m.

They served more than enough on their order, so it's worth to try for their buffet dinner.

The moment we (my girlfriend and I) spotted the above 4 items on the menu while waiting in the queue at the venue, Ma Maison (a Japanese inspired western café in Bugis Junction, we were sure we'd try these on Friday evening even though this is our first time going to the Bugis Junction outlet.

The Paella (a kind of Spanish seafood fried rice) was good, but it was a bit small for two people. The flavour throughout the rice was very nice, but it was a bit dry. It was my favourite dish.

Ma Maison is now one of my favourite places due to great food & good prices, great service from japanese waitresses and great ambience.

It is very enjoyable restaurant. I like the comfortable setting a lot, feels like we're in an old European restaurant. Very cozy and the dim lighting coupled with wooden furniture & old fashioned upholstery. Perfect for dates at homely atmosphere.

I'll definitely go back to take advantage of the 10% discount for CIMB credit cards holders and had dinner at Ma Maison for trying the other stuff in the menu.
