Cheap and crowded every evening.

If you love Sotong (squid), then the Cereal Sotong here is worth ordering.

My girlfriend and I loved the soup, very nice warm feeling and tasty too. Perfect weather to eat at the shophouse, with its five-foot-wide walkway and enjoy the food during evening time so that I'll not perspire at all.

Particularly memorable was their Salted Egg Prawns because this dish cost $15.00 with just 5 pieces of prawns.

My schoolmate and me decided to pop by for a try.

All the service crews are foreigners.

When my schoolmate saw the rice portion being served by the waiter, we were shocked because it is barely half a bowl of rice. Therefore, we had to order extra bowl of rice.

Dirty Rice: Pan-fried rice cook with green peppers, onions and celery.

Good food, great service and awesome lunch! Essentially you get what you pay for.

Food's okay and Han's food is value for money.

My friends and I often dine at this Cafe because the place is spacious and comfortable with great ambience and good food. They only have western food here.

Everything is nice, but the service is a bit bad.

The coffee with milk is their specialty. Tasty!

The NZ Sirloin steak is awesome.

The reason for me to order other type of fish because I knew their Fish and chips is no good.

Tip: Must try the grilled fish dory because it is very nice.

For Duck Dish Lovers Smile Jul 11, 2014

Lunch

As you enter Newton Food Centre, you'll immediately be confronted with a whole row of stalls selling all sorts of foods.

At first, my ex-colleague and me are at a loss as don't know what to eat. We then walked pass this stall and decided to order it for our lunch.

Therefore, I went to find our own table and helped her to bring the 鸭饭套餐 (Duck Rice Set) over from the stall.

Honestly, I really do not know how they can cook their chilli because the taste is a bit different from other stalls.

I like tenderly braised duck with a very savoury gravy sauce that enhanced the taste more than chicken. I like both braised and roasted duck. Soup is herbal based.

If you have not tried the allure of cheap hawker food, please visit Yu Kee Duck Rice (友记鸭饭)Newton Food Centre during lunch time because it is not-so-crowded hawker centre and it is highly recommended to try their duck rice, which is value for money.

Tips: Braised 鸭翅膀 duck wings are very good with beer, duck heads and necks too.

I was introduced to this cozy bistro by my friend and it was my first visit last evening.

I ordered their Fish & Chips set for dinner, which includes a drink and a soup, together with garlic toasts. They do not present the same with the usual garlic bread and I believed they served herb & garlic toast together with their soup of the day. The soup did have a unique and pleasant taste. The serving portion of Fish & Chips is very generous and it was yummy too.

It's onion rings are Golden fried onions served with tartar sauce.

Before we settled our bill, we enjoyed drinking their hand brew own cup of tasty coffee. I was impressed with their coffee, which was quite nice after adding two sachets of sugar and milk.

Conclusion: It was really worth the price and both of us had a great time chatting over estate's matters in the cozy environment (Simple and nice ambience) with friendly staffs. My visit is quite pleasant and enjoyable.
