Tong Heng Egg Tart Smile Aug 18, 2013

Is Tong Heng EGG TARTTTTTT lollollol

Like a finally since I always saw my friend posted Tong Heng Egg Tart's images on Instagram it always make my lunch appetite get bigger but not be able to satisfy the egg tart craving.

Hence, I am so excited to come buy Tong Heng egg tart since I past by Chinatown.
Traditional Eggtart

Traditional Eggtart

I ate one on the spot and packed another 5 more to bring home and enjoy!

At Tong Heng, there are 2 types of egg tarts: the traditional ones and the coconut ones, I am not a fan of coconut thus I only bought one coconut egg tart back to try.

Apart from the egg tarts, I have also bought the icing shortcake with lotus paste for my family.

What I would say is that, Tong Heng is really good for their eggtarts. As the icing shortcake is too sweet for me ><. And the lotus paste is those hard type rather than the soft type we ate in lotus bun. Thus, i dont recommend the icing shortcake for first timer like me. Or it could also be due to that I have expect too much from Tong Heng.

But overall, you should really try the traditional type of Tong Heng eggtart. It is really delicious as it seen! On the side note, i really like how they keep the traditional feel with modern interior design of the shop. Good place to sit back and relax and a walk at Chinatown.

Pricing -
Traditional Eggtart: $1.40
Coconut eggtart: $1.50
Icing Shortcake: $1.30

Spending per head: Approximately $2(Breakfast)

So i strongly recommend one should try the fried egg at xin wang ! The floss is always nice as usual ! Dip the floss with the sauce and eat together with the egg and rice ! My mouthful of food tastes extremely delicious :> xin wang also has a good environment for gathering, especially during the weekend its operating hours is till 3am !

ordered the yu kee duck rice set as i was happy to see my favourite peanut in the rice :smile) not only that is peanuts in it, there are also eggs and beancurd accompaning the main side dish of duck meat. The meat is tender and with it small size it is easy for me to bite. The rice smell fragrantly nice and is not to hard ! Feeling satisfied and i will definitely be back again smile

Heard about the story of how eighteen chef get started with it staffs business from my friend and i decided to give it a try smile i ordered salmon cream pasta set thats comes with a drink and an ice-cream at student price. Really like theway how the chef allows us to create our own pasta by choosing our own ingredient and sauce.the lemon tea tastes very refreshing, and the cup used has a very cute design as u can see in the picture smile

i hv been passing by shokudo quite a lot times thinking that it is a buffet restaurant , but thanks to openrice! After a search, i realised thaat shokudo is a ala carte restaurant instead of buffet style. Bought this layer fried egg with mayo and cuttlefish flakes on top. The concept of ordering is like marche style , staff service is very good as they patiently asked me for the order and also recommend what are the foods that i shld try. Price wise , given the good environment and services i would said it is worth it to go and try smile
