Being the sister restaurant of My Humble House, I opted for a less pricey option while savoring the sumptuous food of Tung Lok Group - Space @ Humble House.
FOODI ordered the Mama Leong's Chicken Rice, which is said to be the secret recipe of celebrity chef, Sam Leong's mother. It consists of pieces of tender chicken, fragrant rice, soup of the day, accompanied with their special chili and dark sauce. However, it taste like normal chicken rice that we usually eat in food courts/coffeeshops. The only difference is that the price was tripled. The "special works" of Sam Leong's mother cost $12.
My friend ordered the clay-pot rice in consommé (something like mui fan). It consist of tofu, seaweed, egg, shrimp and crabmeat. It is tantalizing and suitable for people who dislike porridge but would prefer light something light on the stomach. This bowl of mui fan is much more worthwhile, though it also cost $12.
For our side dish, we ordered tofu coated with seaweed. Crispy tofu and a touch of salt and pork floss - good combination that send your taste buds jumping for joy! This side dish is cheaper at price of $8
AmbienceI love the ambience here! It's quiet, and their special decor of the restaurant lighted up your mood and boost your appetite as you laid back, enjoying the tranquility while waiting for your food to come.
ServiceTheir service is generally good, though I dont really like the uniform of the waitress. It's kinda distracting when a waitress with 'spare tyre' revealed hers.
Their uniform are designed in such a way that their belly buttons can be seen.
PriceThe pricing is average, accounting for the fact that it is situated in Esplanade, a tourist area. However, it'd be wise to order food that are commonly seen in normal food courts/coffeshops.
