Best Ban Mian in Singapore Smile Jul 23, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

My son brought me here. He said this stall serves the best handmade noodle in Singapore. He got me curiousity about it. I tried it for the first time and fallen in love with it. I ordered the ban mian with prawns and sliced fish. The ingredients tasted extremely fresh. It was so fresh that i can taste the natural sweetness out of it. The nicely cooked ban mian was served in tasty stock. They added in the crispy ikan belis before they served. The super spicy chilli brought the flavour out of this bowl of ban mian and enhanced it.

Curry Chicken OK Jul 23, 2012

Toast Box is not only famous for its coffee but its curry chicken too. I guess not many people know about their curry chicken. I like the level of spiciness of the curry gravy. It is not overwhelmed but a comforting spiciness that spice up the dish. It goes well with the bread. The texture of both the chicken and the potato was nicely cooked. It still tasted firm and not too mushy. It goes well with their coffee.

Fishball Noodle OK Jul 23, 2012

I was here having breakfast with my daughter. I decided to have fishball noodle from my regular stall. I ordered the $3 portion of mee kia. The mee kia was cooked nicely to retain its springiness. It did not have any akaline taste at all. It tasted good when tossed well with the sauce mix. It would be even nicer if it is a bit more spiciy. Lots of fried pork lards were added to give it more flavor. The fishball have very bouncy texture and not too fishy.

Chicken Rice OK Jul 23, 2012

I ever eaten at their outlet in Yishun a few times. I was excited when i chanced upon their outlet in Ang Mo Kio. I decided to order a chicken drumstick with rice. This stall offers only white chicken. Their white chicken tasted really good. The meat still have its tenderness and tasted quite juicy. Their chilli is one of the best. It is made of the chilli padi so the spiciness level is quite intense. Their chicken rice has nice fragrant and very grainy.

Fisball bee hoon soup OK Jul 23, 2012   (Related Review)

Wang Cafe is not just a place for coffee. They do offer local delights like curry chicken and even fishball bee hoon soup. I tried it once. It tasted not too bad. It came with a good amount of bee hoon with ingredients like fishball and fishcake. It was served in MSG free clear soup with only very slight peppery taste. Such a bowl of fishball bee hoon goes well with their nice coffee!
