not much sarang after all  Cry Dec 30, 2010

only knew about this restaurant as they were the official restaurant for the recent kpop night concert in singapore so decided to go try it out as my idols came here to eat too!

the restaurant had indoor and outdoor seatings. but we chose to sit indoor as that day weather was quite humid. as we came around 8.20pm there was lesser crowd already so we did not have to wait too long for our food which was a good thing.

we decided to order their rice cake, kimchi soup, chicken, and glass noodles / vermicelli and three bowls of rice. initially we wanted to order the rice which was cooked using a stone pot but after knowing that we had to wait for 20 mins for it to be cooked, we decided to opt for the normal steamed rice as we were famished by then.

first up, the rice cake was ok, a bit spicy for me though but overall it was alright.
second came the kimchi soup we were shocked that it was such a small pot!!! there were 3 of us, each of us barely had enough for 5 spoon of soup and thats it, there is no more left already!!
so we requested to the waiter if we could have more soup if that was possible but he said no as they only cook to order. and that if there is no ingredients, the soup would not be tasty.
thirdly, the chicken came and it was ok not too bad! one of the better dish. smile enjoyed it though as the seasoning was just right.

as we were still quite hungry, we decided to order the glass noodle. which was a wrong choice!! the portion was so freaking small !!!! it was quite normal as well.

overall i dont think i will come back to visit this restaurant as i feel that although the price is reasonable, but their portion is really small! but their service was not too bad that i must say.

good for a small snack OK Oct 14, 2012

Been a long time since i ate the fried mars bar from chippy so i decided to get it as a small snack together with the cheesy curry chicken. I think the curry chicken was really not worth it as i had very little chicken and the person gave a lot of small crumbs instead. I only ate like a few pieces of the chicken. The fried mars bar was good but very sinful and sweet but it was good to go together with the vanila ice cream.

pineapple fried rice OK Jul 08, 2012

This is my third time ordering from this stall already but i have not tried their pineapple fried rice before so today i decided to give it a try. The pineapple fried rice costs $4 a plate and they were really generous with the serving. It was really filling but i feel that the fried rice lacked fragrance and also i feel that it was slightly disappointing. I would not try the fried rice again next time but perhaps go for the other dishes that were better in taste. Might have to wait for a while for the food to be served during lunch time as this stall is rather popular too.

chicken mcbites OK Jun 26, 2012

As mcdonald is currently having their own great singapore sales so i took the opportunity to get their chicken mcbites at 20 pieces for just a mere $2. I think it is worth it if you buy during this promotion as it is quite cheap! If the promotion is over, i would not consider getting it at all. Got their cheeseburger as well for only $1. The chicken mcbites are a little small and i think buying the chicken mcnuggets would have been more filling actually, but it is still a good snack to snack on when you are hungry.

char kway teow  OK Jun 24, 2012

Categories : Malaysian | Food Court

This stall has a really long queue and we had to wait up till an hour for our plate of char kway teow. What i like about the stall is that they have implemented a queue number system whereby you can go back to your seat first and wait for your number to be flash out on their system.

I feel that i would very much prefer the singapore version as this was rather bland as compared to ours. The prawns are really big and crunchy and fresh! But do give it a try if you are around as it is something different.
