Categories : Hawker Centre | Chicken Rice

This stall is a rival stall of the famous tian tian chicken rice at maxwell food centre. Actually to be honest, i wanted to try tian tian chicken rice but the queue is too long and i only have 1 hour for my lunch. So in order not to waste time i just went over to ah tai to order my plate of chicken rice as there is only 2 person in the queue. The uncle at the stall was very friendly and nice, when i told him i wanted roast chicken he told me that they do not sell roast chicken and there is only white chicken. He told me to give it a try and i said ok to it. There is an option of either $2.50 or $3, but i wanted to save money so i took the $2.50 chicken rice and the portion of it was rather big! lucky me!

The chicken is very soft and tender and the chili that comes along with it is nice too. The rice isn't too oily and overall i think it is very worth my $2.50. Another helper at the stall pass me my cutlery after i place my order and i feel that it is a nice gesture because he doesn't have to do it but out of his initiative he did it so i was impressed.

Initially i do not know why there is always a long queue at this stall during lunch time, but now i think i know why as the prices of their fruit juice is only $1.50 which is really value for money i feel. If you feel that $1.50 is not enough for you there is also an option of $2 or $2.50 i think. Although there is a long queue, but the staff are really fast in making the fruit juice and are quicky to give you back your change too. I always order the carrot juice and also a slice of the papaya that costs forty cents. It is always good to eat fruits after your meal to aid digestion too.

It is my first time at quiznos despite walking by many times before as it didn't occur to me to try it as the price of it is more expensive as compared to subway. But i finally decided to try it today as my friends wanted to do so too. I ordered the honey bourbon chicken at $6.50 for the 6 inch sub. I did not know that we are not able to choose what toppings we want in our sub but we are allowed to select what kind of bread we want. I went with the white bread as i prefer it than those wholemeal kind of bread. The bread was slightly toasted and it was really nice and soft too. Overall i would say my sub was not too bad. I just wish that we are able to add toppings to it and add the sauce that we like to it.

Was craving for ice cream so i went to my favourite island creamery wanting to order my favourite reverso but to my disappointment, it was almost finishing and the lady said it would not be enough for one scoop and advised me to pick another flavour instead. It was only 2pm when i went so i also cannot understand why is it that it is already sold out so quickly!!! So i decided to pick cookies and cream and it was alright. I wouldn't say it is mad nice or what but just really average though. But the oreo bits inside it was quite big and crunchy. There was only one lady helper inside the store so service would be quite slow.

This is my first time at hatched so i decided to order the safer choices like the burly benedict, sir benedict and the salmon one which i didn't really catch the name of it. Firstly, for the sir benedict it comes with raw lettuce, mash potato and the eggs benedict had bacon, ham on top of the muffin followed by the poached egg. Love this the most as the bacon is very crispy and the whole thing was just perfect. Did not try the salmon one as i don't really eat salmon. The burly benedict has the same combination except that they replaced the bacon and ham with corn beef this time. Both were great too but the price is also rather steep. One egg would costs $12 and if you get two egg it would be $18.
