Still the best beancurd?  Cry Jul 28, 2013

It has been a long time since I've patronized this beancurd store again. With the rise of all the other popular beancurds like 'lao ban' and 'rochor beancurd', I'm not sure if they have affected the business here. In the past, i had a hard time finding seats during late nights, but last friday at about 11pm+, i could easily find some seats outside the shop. I ordered a tau huay and realized that the taste was slightly different. It was quite bland. I hope their standard won't drop as I've been eating their tau huay for many years.

Awesome dessert place Smile Jul 28, 2013

Decided to try the infamous black sesame snow ice at Ji De Chi. The dish is a mixture of nata de coco, red bean paste, pearl like jellies, black sesame shaved ice topped with red bean sauce. Portion is just right for a small eater like me. Ji De Chi is always an awesome place for desserts after a meal with my friends or colleagues.

Sinful Milkshake! Smile Jul 28, 2013

I presumed that this is one of the trendiest drinks in town right now! The concept of MakeShake allows you to customize 'mix and 'match' flavours altogether. Doesn't sound sinful enough? Here's what I have ordered. For the base, I chose 'Vanilla Ice Cream' and topped up with 'Nutella' and 'Oreo Cookies' to create a "black n white" milkshake. The mixture resulted in a relatively smooth texture with bits of blended oreo cookies. Tasted not so bad afterall.

A TGIF dinner! Smile Jul 28, 2013

It was TGIF and while searching for a decent place for japanese food, I chanced upon Sho Teppan which serves shabu shabu and teppanyaki set meals. The restaurant dining concept is similar to those one will see in Japan, where food is prepared and served by the chef or waiter right at your dining table. I ordered a chicken with mushroom teppanyaki meal set with rice. The ingredients were served raw and pan-fried by the waiter. This would help to ensure that the food remain hot and sizzling before eating. The chicken slices were well marinated with the teppanyaki sauce and the vegetables like the carrot help to balance off the strong teppanyaki taste.

Brunch! Smile Jul 28, 2013

Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes | Pasta | Burgers and Sandwiches

Popped by this cafe as my friend highly recommended it. There were many types of pies and cakes to choose from and I was spoilt for choice. I made my decision on the Chicken Mushroom Pie and it came with mashed potato and salad. A wonderful portion just right for my brunch. The mash potato has a chunky texture (similar to Popeye's mash potato) which I favor over the smooth textured kind. I wanted to go along with a cup of cafe latte but they ran out of this item. In the end, I chose the Chai Tea latte instead. I found it quite sweet but nevertheless I finished the whole cup.
