a green gathering! Smile May 16, 2011

Well if it isn't long overdue - the biggest ORTU gathering yet to be held at the Green Room - Canopy Garden Dining bar!

I was - well running late and lost - around the amenity, and finally after an hour prolly being late I arrived! I felt bad as the rest was all seated nicely.

Anyhow we had almost 8-9 serves with special cocktail mix including the chocolate sin. I forgot the name but THAT, was my favorite. it was just exactly like a peanut butter chocolate smooth milkshake, which the bartender explained to us its a specialty and popular amongst the ladies.

However the best out of the best was my favorites spaghetti and the italian meatball they go well together to complement the taste - the meatball was spicy and the pasta was light - don't have to worry on the curry, as the green curry is quite tasteless here but again it's tad spicy. Gives your tongue fireworks!

One more thing I liked for the taste but quite poor in presenting is the prawn mango salad. Taste wise is exceptional, but it would be better if it was served chilled - it was warm and leaves were a bit soft - I know I was late but for others prawn served cold gives a big difference nor the mango sauce! Talk about dessert as appetizer!mad

The SG Wannabe Soup Smile May 16, 2011

Well, a background: SG Wannabe is a Korean singer with the full name "Simon n Garfunkel Wannabe". And well, at Soup spoon, there's a soup called the Simon and Garfunkel Chicken Soup!

I never tried this one before since I'm bored with the usual mushroom that is famous but I guess has bore me. I was lucky enough to get the bread piping hot from the toaster - had to wait but its of worth! Love their soft little bun to soak to the soup!

Added pepper but didn't make much of a difference. It was filling in a sense that it had a lot of chicken bits and the vegetables. But it really didn't grew on me, tastewise was OK but not super wow delicious!

Cold noodles for the first time! Smile May 16, 2011

Categories : Japanese

Yes, although I'm a self confessed Jap freak, this is like literally the first time I ordered a main menu from the soba list. Usually taken as a side dish this time I ate it whole cold. It was the hot weather than drives me mad and my friends and we ate mad ordering many things.

This was I ordered a mix of soba nad udon with the cold sauce. The sauce was light and sweet so I added soy sauce (well sorry I'm a salty person). They added the fish flakes on top of the udon and seaweed on the soba. It did make a difference as it was plain with only the noodle! But it was just right for the taste and for the weather. Or either because we were starving as well. Better than the other sobas tried in town! smile

surprisingly good salad Smile May 15, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

Surprisingly, for some light supper I had their salad and it was quite filling and in terms of the ingredients they put in, it's quite extensive. For a level of a food court that is, the sliced cheese and chicken and ham bits gave the salty taste towards the vegetables. No mayonnaise or thousand island dressing so it was really light. This is a good snack for some diet! However the vegetable isn't so crispy fresh.

late supper! Smile May 07, 2011

After practice from St Mary's, decided to get a some upper and surprisingly Jones was still open.

I ordered the cheesy baked mash potato for $6, which was originally a side dish but you could opt out for the bigger version. And it came out (well the info given by the girl who was behind the order said it's 3x than the normal sized small cup) bigger than expected!

The texture was of course not as light and soft but the potato mixed with the cheese was just too good. Too good and very filling. I even shared and I was soon dozzing off. Blame it to the carbs. mad
