Like the name says, it is delicious. Period.

Well let me englighten you all Openricers then on how good. Ahem.

Starts to sell around 1PM, because they open their store about 11-12 noon, and thats when Mr Chef starts to make the dough sift mould and bake so it takes an hour or so till its baked and ready in their display.

Their muffins are banana walnut, orange peel, and chocolate chip from $1.50-$2.20. In addition, chicken pie and curry puff at $2.50 is also served with the same good quality they have set their standards to. The pies are just different, the chicken rather than bland and plain, is more creamy in the potato filling texture and the richer taste.

Take note! They always close every month on these three dates: 8th, 18th, and 28th, which these dates are etched in my memory forever as they close on my birthdate TT_TT

It was when I wanted to celebrate my diet-free birthday with stuffing good time but alas, it was close. CLOSE!

T-time for taro Smile Mar 30, 2011

Time out, it's tea time! Snack time around the place. I'd drop by for the ice cream or the ice cream cake of Hershey or, this Taro turnover! mad

Super amazing or I was lucky today that it was still piping hot and the taro cream is more than it can hold - everytime i bite on it, the creme just bursts out that it was so hard to wipe it off. I recommend this hot snack and if you're lucky you'll get a new and hot piece with extra full filling that oh, it might keep you sane until your breakfast to skip dinner. Maybe tongue

Its a convenient place as it's close by a minute walk for me!

Set B for 2 Smile Mar 30, 2011
Categories : Japanese | Thai | Sushi/Sashimi

This new place has opened up, ZENSO, and it has this Thai-Japanese fusion, although after looking at the menu, there's no fusion dish to combine both - it's just that they serve japanese bento sets and thai dishes in tom yum, curry chicken, or rice dishes.

I was chilling out with an old pal and so after a look of the whole menu, I recommended that why don't we get Set B, the two special sets for 2. It was at $18.90 each.

We don't get an option for rice (plain rice), but for vegetable and meat dish and drink, we did have options. We got the coconut chicken soup, the vegetable dish I forgot the name, the beef dish and lemongrass and thai ice tea with milk.

The coconut chicken soup was really thick, but the saltiness was just right. It was really thick in its coconut, you can have this whole set for 3 with an extra portion of rice. The soup also had tomatoes on it too. However the taste was not so thick until you want to throw up and can't eat anything else.

Vegetable and beef dish had really scary looking size chilli but it was of worth - if you bite you die but the spice was just right - a bit too salty though, but try mixing the sauce with coconut soup spread on top of your rice - it gives a balance of milky texture and the spice salt taste.

By the end of it you're super full! The drink was too sweet compared to the other thai chain just beside the store. But the lemongrass for me had a fresh mint aftertaste which I can't find at other Thai stores just! smile

Best other thing about this new joint is that there's no charge in tax and service! So it was exactly $18.90. lol

Calling for Sticky Dumplings Smile Mar 30, 2011

Categories : Hawker Centre

At 4PM on a Sunday, it still yet opens in the middle of the lane where most shops are closed! So anyhow I was thinking that the portion was just right to eat, as I'm not too hungry nor full, just right to fill my tum.

I bought the one filled with pork, and well, they do have a name for nothing, the fragrance was really pulling my appetite and it I just have to tell you it's just right for a glutinous rice. Just nice. Where some are really sticky, this one was sticky but then on the inside you could feel the bits of rice where it's not too sticky.

Lasagna Set Meal Smile Mar 30, 2011

Categories : Singaporean Western | Café | Pasta

Well well, it was raining, the weather seemed just right to eat something piping hot. After enough contemplation, my friend and I ordered the lasagna set that comes with fried potato wedges and the lasagna with a drink to accompany.

It took them about 5-10 minutes to cook as they have previously stated, and when it came, it looked good - the cheeeeese, the mozzarella cheese looked tantalizing mad

Students who were in the counter were also pointing saying that "man that looks good!" instead of the usual fried chicken rice set or something. This was either $6-8 I forgot the exact price.

However on taste, without the extra ketchup or chilli and pepper it would be quite tasteless, the lasagna. But the wedges, ARE AWESOME. CRISP TO PERFECTION AND soft inside goodness, ooooh the warm wedges to bite into!
