Should I be incorrect, this Guan chee chain is pretty famous for its pork delicacies. Coming down with my tourist friend, I was craving for samchan, the ugliest most sinful part of all pork chops a shop can offer, with it being fried and basically it was the skin. mad

Ordered a mix of meat platter for two, consisting from the roasted duck with the delicious crispy skinsmile, red grilled ones to the fried ones of my favorite ( I dont know the name, just see the pics will do, no Hehechopstick ) and smartly, they offered if I wanted vegetables. I forgotten should we had vegetable platter of greens, we should cut down the meat portion for just one because we had another one to share!

Rice was covered in their sweet duck sauce. Although it would be much better for the meat to be warm and not cold with the rice, but the vegetables were just reboiled and was streamed with oyster sauce and fried garlic on top.

The variety is fantastic so to say, but a bowlTIP! is to get extra sweet dipping sauce for the meat because one saucer is not enough (and they know its two portions, duh!) I wont have to move back and forward.

For $30 altogether,
it was tad pricey (as I thought it we could be just eating at a resto instead of food court) but the meat platter was huge too!
come to think of it, the rice portion was pretty huge too.

sweet pour (poor) pork Smile Jan 11, 2012

if it only was that the rice was all warmed up but the sweet sour pork which of course, is cooked with the sauce all over and it's cold when I received it because it should've been cooked out earlier in the day, a pop in the microwave solved the problem because I tapaod.

Generous in the rice portion, I had left a lot of rice left because there wasn't a bit left of the pork. Ordered a sweet sour pork rice to go for $4, this mini wok space is also famous for other rice specialties.

Pork was chewy and the sweet sour sauce was flavorful with the paprika and tomato bits!

but then, the price of course was higher compared to other stalls around the same vicinity. Although this was the usual standard of rice dishes, I object where it's a market and I can get for lesser price tongue

Because if you had refer to my "Gooey Favorite" post: http://sg.openrice.com/singapore/restaurant/commentdetail.htmcommentid=24214
that i've been going crazy over lor mee, but this was only the place to go should I book into my office. If not, an alternative is given to kind of explore somewhere else.

Lor mee in Chinatown is not the usual meal, but I headed onwards anyways to check it out and well, if you know the best, the rest won't give a cure. But heads out on the gooey gravy as it was warm and it had the same compact texture. Should have given more garlic and vinegar and it would have tasted all better lol

It was unique however to find pork chops on top as the meat choice!

Divine pizzas for the big party Smile Jan 11, 2012

Categories : Italian | Café | Pasta | Kids-Friendly

Without thinking twice, we know that Pizza Hut was always having a Q, whereas I remembered that Sarpinos had a branch here and it was always ready without a lot of people, so we thought that we could get our pizzas fast!lol

So to say, the prices were different if we were to buy per slice it would be $3.50-4 in regards to the toppings, from supreme meat, olive vegetarian, original cheese, and other combos.

With the order of 4 full rounds for $25 which has about7 or 8 slices, we had the time of our life eating the slices like mad. The bread base was quite thin, so we weren't so full from the really thick base, and the crust was crunchy well done! But again, there wasn't too much of cheese going on the base so we relied mostly on the full bottles of ketchup to add!
mad

Oh well, at least we did have our tummies filled and where the vegetarian had a good selection of vegetables for me to vote, from olives, paprika, and herbs.

Place is a bit dinky-like and dark but if you had a big group, you would feel like you'd own the place as it wasn't so popular. chopstickchopstick

Fishball in Maxwell Smile Jan 11, 2012
Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

The fishball soup and noodles here is generously given, which makes me go mad as a fishballer fan! on a hot day after walking through chinatown and beyond, my friend and i landed to this uber famous Maxwell food mart for late lunch.

The noodles ranges from beehoon (the thin ones to the thicker ones which is kwayteow) and egg noodles in smaller sizes and flat sizes. I was with my friend and we shared a bowl of separate fishball soup which had fishcake bits and the pork broth.

Focusing on the soup, the clear soup had a strong flavoring of the broth, as so to compliment for the noodles. For the portion, I'm happy that they gave a lot of swimming balls and cakes! mad
