been to smiths twice. so far i've tried haddock, cod & chicken. love the freshness of the fishes (chicken was fine too) & still amazed at how little oil it tasted afterall it's deep fried... lol only thing i didn't quite like was how little they fry the chips, which i was told that's the authentic british style. well i just like my chips a little more crispy... tongue

on my 2nd visit i thought maybe a side order of the curry sauce would be nice since the girl at the counter gave a rather encouraging look that it would be a right bet. unfortunately not. $2.50 was wasted on the order cuz the fish & chips just go well with the standard (free) condiment - ketchup, salt & vinegar (never tried but i think it's vinegar). lol

i've always been a fan of indian cuisine but my knowledge of it has always been limited to naan, curry & fried cabbage (thanks to muthu's curry). lol

my colleague told me that this restaurant has the most expensive pricing in Singapore for their ala carte menu so it was right that we went for the buffet lunch - available only on weekdays, priced at S$52++.

i still couldn't figure out the names of their dishes but the variety for the buffet was decent - not a big spread but good enough for lunch. i especially loved the grilled duck breast in spinach paste & their grilled chicken. the paneer curry (cottage cheese) was simply marvelous!! fish bryani was fragrant & soft. i wished i could have eaten more!! chopstick chopstick

pity i didn't bring my camera along. lol
