This new Zi Char shop is near in town and was recommended by my friend so I decided to check it out.  Reaching there you will already see a long queue there waiting for seats in the restaurant.

I took around 20 minutes of wait before I was offer a seat.  Bought 2 of their signature dishes to try.  Ginger chicken, which is charged at a super high price of $25 was really delicious!  Chicken meat is definitely tender and juicy and really surprise on how yummy this dish is with the slices of gingers cooked in it that make it so flavourful. Slight chilli also make it more appeitizing and added that extra kick to this dish.

Steamed pork with salted fish $14 has really sweet juicy pork used and the thin broad slices of salted fish did not make this dish sting, but added that mild fishy fragrant instead.  Even the gravy is yummy that blend in well with the meat.

Here the service was fast and friendly. Restaurant is quite squeezy and uncomfortable, but fortunately inside is still quite cooling.

Zhou's Kichen High tea buffet Smile Mar 30, 2014

Cheap and good are words i can think of to discribe this affordable high-tea buffet.  Priced at only $16.80 per adult which is cheap and lots of choices available of their buffet menu.  The restaurant is quite cosy and cooling, with nice and simple layout that will not leave the trends.

I have ordered more than ten dishes, but here are five quality dishes I want share.  braised chicken claws are very soft and easy to eat, which is sweet and fragrant with slight spicy in it.

THe siew mai is filled with fresh crunchy prawns that make this mini dish delicious and the siew mai skin is thin and not too salty too.  Sweet and sour pork is super crispy and the pork meat is flavourful and tender. The added capsciums and pineapples have also enhance the taste to this dish as well.

Hot sour soup is thick and full with the nice flavour from the black fungus and the different spicies used.  Delicious and a second serving is defintely worth it.

French beans are crunchy and fresh and full with the nice sweet and a little salty flavour from the dried prawns cooked in it.  Service here is very fast and friendly as well.

This restaurant which sells all kinds of local delight dishes as well as some Western cuisines is definitely a great venue to have a good simple feast and good chit chat with friends here.

Restaurant is decorated till simple, cosy and quite cooling as well.  The restaurant's staffs are all very friendly but abit slow in their service.  I have tried their curry chicken with rice and ice kachang for my this visit.

Curry chicken meat is very tender and juicy and the portion is generous too. The curry gravy is thick, spicy and creamy that really suit my taste bud. This dish is worth the price but feel that the salad  beside it does not blend in to this dish.

Ice kachang as you can see, is quite big in portion as we and lots of ingredients are topped on it.  Especially enjoyed the red bean and green jelly, which both are not too sweet and are flavourful  as well.  The generous amount of evaporated milk added to it make it very fragrant and appeitzing.  Spent less than $10 for this meal which is affordable.

Recommended Dish(es):  Curry Chicken with rice at $5.50,Ice Kachang at $3

Mee Pok Dry Smile Mar 30, 2014

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Have bought a packet of this famous mee pok noodles from this stall for my dinner.  This stall uncle is very friendly and fast in service.  The stall is also clean and tidy.  Only problem is the foocourt seatings are quite limited and all seats are squeezy and uncomfortable.

Due to this reason, I decided to buy back home to eat comfortable in my birdnest.  For the price of $3.80 per serving, is consider quite reasonably priced.  The mee pok portion is very generous and is chewy and not soggy.  Lots of minced pork can be found in this dish that are chewy and tender.  The sauce for tossing the mee pok is sweet and flavourful as well.   would be back again to try other dishes from this stall.

Sugar Free Caramel Apple Candy  Smile Mar 30, 2014
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
This chocolate and candy stall has attracted me by on the various range of colourful packaging chocolates and sweets which make me want to buy an item to try.

This stall is a open concept outlet for Choco express so at any angles of this stall, you be able to enter and check out the items selling there.  Service was warm and friendly and stall is consider quite neat as well.

Have bought a packet of this Caramel Apple Candy as i was attracted by its 'sugar free' wording.  And this flavour here is really special which the combinatin of apple and caramel make the candy taste even sweeter.  It is slightly creamy and the caramel taste is also fragrant too.  One packet is good to share with a group of friends.

Recommended Dish(es):  Werthers Caramel Apple candy at $4.50
