Hokkien Mee  Smile Mar 28, 2014

Categories : Fujian/Heng Hwa | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

At this food centre, there is really no reason you are unable to find a good food that suit you most.  I am thankful that my friend brought me here to try a few local delights, which one of the best which I have tried is the hokkienmee here.  Noodles are very chewy and portion is generous.  The prawn stock used in this dish is very flavourul and delicious.

The basic ingredients such as the fresh prawns and cut squid are very fresh and crunchy.  Also enjoyed the sambal chilli here which is quite spicy and the chilli pasteis very fragrant.  For the price of $4.00 per plate, is definitely cheap and good! The stall helper is friendly and was very patient taking orders. Dining area was quite warmbut is still spacious.

Quite surprise that today there is not many people in this dessert shop as it is usually very crowded here.  So I am reallly glad I can actually grab a cup of my favourite gelato and to peacefully sit inside the shop and enjoy my favourite dessert.

For $4, is value for money as you can see, the portion is very generous.  THe shop is clean and neat, with very friendly service staff over at the counter to serve you.  Have tried the White Mac Flavour gelato which from the out look does not look attactive nor tasty, but in actual fact it tastes great!

Gelato's texture is very thick and creamy, which melt in your mouth like having thick cream milk that is flavourful and nutritional.  More vanilla flavour can be found in this scoop of gelato.

vegetarian bee hoon Cry Mar 28, 2014

This Vegetarian stall always open quite early as I bought this packet of bee hoon on this mprning around 6.30am.  Run by an old couple which the chef if the wife while the husband assist to pack the food.

The stall is clean and neat and early in the morning I already can see many dishes available on their shelving to choose from.  I have bought the bee hoon with a few vegetarian items at onoy $2.50.  The bee hoon is chewy but was alittle bit too dry.  The stir fry cabbage has cooked well which is crunchy and fresh.  The char siew was chewy but not much taste.  Fried beancurd was crispy but too oily.  Uncle was friendly but service was slow.

Kong Bao Frog leg Smile Mar 28, 2014
Categories : Porridge/Congee

For those frog leg porridge fan, you definitely must miss out this famous Claypot frogleg porridge at Geylang. Always crowded once it opens from 3pm, i would be better to be there early to avoid the super long wait.

I have ordered their signature gong bao frogleg to go along with the plain porridge.  Before you taste it, you can already smell the super nice fragrant of the gong bao sauce used.  The frog leg is very soft and chewy, and really sweet and tender too.  The added spring onion also enhance the taste of this local delight.

The stall is small but is quite tidy.  The service staffs here are quite friendly and approachable.  For less than $10 to grab this yummy dish, is worth the price!

Kuih Seri Muka OK Mar 27, 2014
Categories : Malay | Coffeeshop | Halal

Pass by this coffee shop and saw quite a wide range of kueh kuehs available from this Malay stall and decided to give it a try.  Was really surprise that the stall owner told me that most of the kueh items are selling at only 60 cents, which is super affordable.

I have bought their kuih seri muka, which is my all-time favourite malay kueh.  The glutinous rice portion was moist and fragrant which is easy to chewy. As for the green part, it is the pandan flavour that is not too sweet and blend in well with the glutinous rice.

Stall owner was really friendly and even bother to induce the rest of the kuehs available in his stall to me.  The stall is quite big but alittle messy.
