Disappointing Taro Pie Cry Mar 31, 2013
Categories : American | Fast Food | Ice Cream and Gelato | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

Mcdonald's has a new pie in town. I can be considered as a pie lover as I love all sorts of pies. Especially my love for Mcdonald's apple pie and pineapple pie. the pineapple pies are available only during CNY so it's a once a year affair whereas the apple pie is 24/7.

Now, since there's a new pie, i though it's worth trying.

However, it was a huge disappointment for me. The taro comes in chunks and they taste so "fake". Taste more like starch pieces kneaded with light violet coloring, and cooked in sugar syrup. Totally OFF. Haiz...but the pie skin is acceptable as it taste exactly like the outer layer of apple pie. (Coz they are using the same recipe)

Well, paid $1.00 to buy an experience is considered cheap. lolz...

Not so delicious mixed vege rice! Cry Sep 10, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hawker Centre

Was super hungry and since I was around the area, decided to have rice for lunch. I walked around the hawker and decided on this stall.
nothing fantastic

nothing fantastic

Verdict: It didn't give mi the feel of wanting to eat it again. The sambal long beans taste avg but the bringal are sour! Rice grains are not too soft and curry sauce is too watery. Total I had 3 vege dishes plus rice at $2.50. The price was quite ex as compared to other places where $2.50 you can get 2 veggie + 1 meat dish and rice.

Categories : Taiwanese | Noodles

Spend half the day shopping around vivo city and decided to grab a bite bite b4 movie starts. All restaurants and cafes seems to have long Q, thus we decided to join the one with shortest Q.

Xi Men Ding is a restaurant which serve Taiwan food. Somehow or rather, it seems over rated and the food here are over priced. Disappointing!!! sad
Suan Ni Bai Rou

Suan Ni Bai Rou

Blanched pork slices roll with carrots and cucumber sticks. Serve with spicy bean paste.
Nothing fantastic as the pork is lean and tasteless. The spicy bean paste doesn't have a fragrance smell where by right all chinese food seasoning should have.
Pork liver and kidney

Pork liver and kidney

Stir fry kidney and pork liver in huao diao wine.
Cai po fried rice

Cai po fried rice

Cai po fried rice~ my fav among all.
Love the combination of qq rice grains with the non too salty cai po. The Holland peas add some freshness and crunch to the dish while the garlic enhanced the overall smell of the dish. Topped with a sunny side up, simple and nice.Thumb's up!

Mei cai kou rou
Not so much of the traditional taste of mei cai kou rou. i dunno what words to describe the dish. It is salty but seems like adding to much salt/msg to it yet the salted veggie dun taste like it was supposed to be. Pork belly are not flavorful enough.
Breaded prawn cake

Breaded prawn cake

A delighting dish where every mouthful is full of prawns fillings, yet too expensive for a small piece like this. A tiny piece cost $5.00.....

Overall we spent about $100 bucks for these few dishes! Over priced for this kinda food standard! sad

Disappointing Fish Bee Hoon Soup Cry Apr 22, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Chinese Soup

What can go wrong with fish been hoon soup?! That's my thinking all this while but i was so WRONG. Only realise that after i tried from this particular stall.

Fish isnt as fresh and it's overcooked. The most disappointing is the broth which is so bland. It taste almost like plain water where i have to add lots of light soy sauce. sad
I feel so awful when eating as it does not taste like fish bee hoon soup, all ingredients still taste like their own individual taste, juz like cooking on standalone. huffy
