Healthy Chicken Rice / Noodles Smile Nov 09, 2012

Hospital canteen food are known to be unfit for human consumption~~~ well, you would only hear this from a "junk food" eater. lolz.... Menu in hospital canteen food tends to be healthier and would usually state the calories per dish, but it's still fit consumption! tongue

It does help people decide on wiser choice and these so called "healthier food" usually taste bland and dry. However, I was quite surprise when I tried the chicken noodles and chicken rice from this stall in CGH and it totally changed my thinking on hospital canteen food.

Dry Noodles with Roasted Chicken.

Noodles are well cooked, taste springy and well tossed with seasonings
Veggies nicely blanched, with a healthy looking coat of green which taste crunchy.
Chicken breast meat aren't tough
Last but not least, price is affordable. $2.50 for a plate of roasted chicken noodles! Where can I find in Singapore?!?!

I've seen many people ordering their white chicken rice. Especially health conscious doctors or medical team people who goes for chicken breast. Yup, high in protein, lower in calories as compared to chicken drumstick/ thigh. For additional protein, adding 1 hard-boiled egg is a good choice.

Rice grains looks glossy but dun taste oily at all.
Chicken meat ~ super generous serving with sooooo.... many pieces of meat, taste even better with the light soy sauce & sesame oil drizzle.

Delicious! smile

Not my 1st time buying bread from this bread stall and I quite like the concept of having a bread stall in the hawker. 1st of all it won't be so expensive and most importantly they maintain the traditional taste.
Potato Ham Bread

The bun is soft, fluffy and has a mild sweet taste. Fillings wise is generous and not salty. The mashed potato is smooth and creamy.

A new addition for my brother who is a non pastry lover. Quite surprise that he actually like the flakey puff pastry where it still taste crispy when cold. smileshocked

Value For $$$ Fried Kway Teow Smile Jul 20, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hawker Centre

This fried kway teow stall has been around for more than 2 decades and has won the hearts of many residents staying nearby. To be frank, the owners' skill did improved alot as compared to 20 years ago where he just started out. I've never wanted to try as during 'those days' heard lots of bad reviews. Since these recent years, there were many good reviews from the residents, i decided to give it a try.

Super generous for such a huge packet! Initially when I was being charged $3.00 for a packet, in my heart I was thinking, wat's so special? outside i can buy a packet for only $2.50. When the uncle passed me my order, i was like "Gosh, so heavy'! and by time i opened uo when i reached home, everyone asked me do i need to pay $5 bucks for that packet?? I was like "jaws dropped" lolz...

Tasty with lotts of cockles, reali live up to the name of "chei hiam kway teow". which means fresh cockles fried kway teow! lolz... the texture of the kway teow is springy and glossy, despite being fried and covered for so long (from my way back hm about 20mins)

Will definitely be back to support this stall! smile

These interesting slices of cheese bread caught my attention while i was shopping for breads. I remembered not having seen this kinda bread in four leaves so far, erm i mean after i start patronizing them them recently.

I'm curious that how come the cheese in between the bread slices doesn't melt?
The texture of the bread is soft and chewy, which the savory cheese is chewy and great.Thumbs up!

Pineapple rice is flavorful, rice grains are not soggy.
Thai Chicken & Tempura Fish

Thai Chicken & Tempura Fish

Crispy thai style chicken cutlet, goes great with the sauce on top.
Tempura fish is 1 of the chef recommendation.
Golden Prawn Roll & Brocooli With Mushrooms

Golden Prawn Roll & Brocooli With Mushrooms

Batther around the prawn roll seems abit hard, but overall still acceptable.
Greens are not yellowish as sometimes veggies turn yellowish after sometimes, but not for this.
