all about ribs OK Nov 23, 2011

This is one place you should avoid if the weather is very humid. The entire place is not air-conditioned at all. However, they serve a wide variety of beer. Good for cooling down. smile

Their specialty is pork ribs. The portions are really big. We had the St Louis Pork ribs. A little sweet for my liking but generally, its still quite acceptable. I like the fries though. Very fat and salty.

The disadvantage of this place is the lack of parking space.

good western food Smile Nov 21, 2011

I happened to be at Punggol and was very surprised to find out that there were quite a number of restaurants at Tebing Lane. It was a friday night and Frienzie was very crowded. However, it didnt take us long to get a table.

I had lamb rack while my friend ordered fish & chips. The lamb rack was awesome. It was not overly done and the seasoning was just right. It was served with mint sauce and potato mash. However, it was a little pricey, cost about $34 while the fish and chips was only $11.
The fish & chips were great too. It was really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

We had a mushroom soup as the starter which was not exceptionally great but still acceptable.

There were indoor and alfresco seating. If the weather permits, it can be rather chilled to sit at the alfresco area for some beer and wings. smile

simple fare OK Nov 17, 2011

Categories : Teochew | Porridge/Congee | Zi Char

A very typical Teochew restaurant whose signature dishes are their braised duck and fish soup. For a party of 2, you can go for $8 duck and medium fish soup. SHould be just sufficient for the 2 of you.

If you intend to order more variety of food, you can try their Hot Plate Tofu with prawns. The portion was very generous and it was really tasty. The sauce went really well with rice. You may end up ordering more rice to go with the sauce. smile

The good thing about this restaurant is that they are opened 24 hours. So if you crave for soupy stuff in the middle of the night, you may want to pay this restaurant a visit.

nice mee sua Smile Nov 17, 2011

Their mee sua is one of their signature dishes. Herbal soup base with generous serving of pork slices or pig liver. This place is usually very crowded, even on weeknights. Nevertheless, it's quite easy to find a table.
The Ma You chicken is very tasty as well. It's really fragrant and as usual, they are very generous with their portion. The small claypot can serve 3-4 pax easily.

I love their soup! Especially when its served piping hot. My usual would be the pork ribs and prawn mee hoon soup. The price is quite steep for coffee shop settings but nevertheless, it is always crowded, especially weekends. Their prawns are really fresh and their ribs are not too fatty or oily. smile
Medium: $8.80
Jumbo: $10.80
