Hearty Breakie Smile Dec 02, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

Had an early client meeting at Comcentre and decided to take my breakfast before heading back to my office in Raffles Place. Saw that Toast Box was quite empty (only 3 tables were taken) and decided to have my breakfast there.

Ordered the peanut butter toast set. Comes with a cup of ice lemon tea, 2 half boiled eggs and a peanut butter toast. The peanut butter was sparingly spread onto the toasted crispy toast. The eggs was watery....just the way I like it and the ice tea wasn't too sweet. I had one of the best breakfast that day. I think they are worthy competitors of Yakun.

Cedele lunch Smile Dec 02, 2011

Not a big fan of eating out because Raffles Place's lunch crowd can be really horrendous. However, my colleague decided that we should try out Cedele coz the environment was ok and not too crowded.

I ordered the Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato sandwich. The bacon is super crispy and not too hard. You know how some bacon can be so hard that it start to taste like chewing gum? This one was good. Fragrance and easy to bite. The vegetables and tomato slices that they add to the sandwich was really fresh too.

The soup taste good and I cleaned up the entire bowl! Would definitely go back again!

Great tasting bread pudding Smile Nov 26, 2011

This is one of the best bread pudding I've ever tasted. The bread was topped with vanilla ice cream and soaked in vanilla cream. I like how the dish was served in a quaintly little dish. The ice cream didn't over power the sweetness of the bread.

This cafe has a little shop in it where diners can shop around while waiting for their food to be ready. The shop sells very unique retro items. Besides that, there is also a salon nestled inside which I think was a great idea. You can eat while waiting for your turn to fix your hair.

Spending per head: Approximately $6(Supper)

Ramen Ramen Smile Nov 17, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

We were looking for a place to eat after our movie at Plaza Singapura and I was suddenly attacked by ramen crave. My partner suggested we go for Ajisen to satisfy my cravings. To make the best value....we decided to go for the set which includes a drink, a side dish and ramen.
Fried chicken

Fried chicken

The fried chicken was too oily. I think they cooked it in lots of oil but didn't strain it properly. The meat, however, was tender and that basically made up for the tons of oil.
Cuttlefish

Cuttlefish

This dish wasn't too fantastic. It was oily on the outside and the tentacles were abit too dry. Had a hard time chewing before I could swallow.
Volcano Ramen

Volcano Ramen

My favorite would be the volcano ramen. Although it was suppose to be a 3 chili ramen, it wasn't too spicy. I normally go for the spicy cha shu ramen (2 chili) so this time round, I decided to go for adventure. The volcano is only slightly spicier than the spicy cha shu....faint hearted can easily consume.
Cha Shu Ramen

Cha Shu Ramen

My partner had the cha shu ramen. The broth tasted good and the cha shu was soft enough to melt in your mouth.

Spending per head: Approximately $15(Dinner)

Fresh durian pancake Smile Nov 11, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Desserts and Cakes

Generous portion of yummy fresh juicy durian paste in crispy pancake only at $1.50!! Original price was at $2.50. The cold durian paste combined with the hot crispy pancake created a heavenly taste. Would be good if they can put more durian paste...but for that price, I thought it was really good value for money. The pancake is made on the spot! Would go back for more!
