Awfully sinful Smile Dec 13, 2011

There's an Awfully chocolate shop at the cross junction where the new 112@Katong mall is. Decided to walk in for some desserts. It was really crowded. We had to wait about 20 mins for our orders to be served. But throughout the entire waiting time, the lovely ladies had been apologizing to us for the wait. I reckon they should be having a large group order. Anyway, I ordered my usual one scoop ($3.80) for takeout.

I still love how the ice cream is not too sweet and easy on the throat. Takeout orders comes with this little white paper tub and a green disposable plastic spoon. The entire presentation is quite cute!

Spending per head: Approximately $3.80(Supper)

Fresh sashimi Smile Dec 12, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Hotel | Buffet

Went to Ikoi for my company team gathering. The environment is a little crowded and noisy. Not a very conducive environment for dating but a great place for group gatherings. We had to make reservations to get a seat.

We ordered alot of ebi tempura. Tempura was never my favorite because I always find it too oily. But this one was great. We had California rolls and soba as staples. The broth was really interesting. It comes in a teapot and they provide us with little teacups. This is the first time I had soup in a cup! Sashimi is quite fresh. We had a few rounds of those salmon and tuna sashimi.

Service was quite fast. We didn't have to wait too long for our orders to arrive.

Spending per head: Approximately $34(Lunch)

Quick bite Smile Dec 02, 2011

It was one hot weekend and I was shopping in this really stuffy underground carpark flea market in Scape. As most places were crowded, I decided to grab a quick bite from LJS. The service crew was really patient and waited for me to decide...think I took some time as I didn't know what to order. In the end, I decided to go for the fish and chicken. Instead of serving up on plates, I was given this box like container that normally would be used for fries. And most interestingly, I asked for a packet of chili sauce but was given 5 packets. The sad part is that they didn't give me the crispy flour that the restaurant would normally sprinkle on the plate. Well, this is a grab and go kiosk...can't expect too much smile

Spending per head: Approximately $6(Lunch)

Late night snack Smile Nov 17, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

It was late at night and we didn't know where to go....so we decided to head for the airport for coffee.
Milk toast

Milk toast

I couldn't resist anything with condense milk sweetener! So I requested for the milk toast. They came so very very little milk. When the service crew saw my face, he asked if I wanted more milk and I said yes and requested he brings the toast back and help me pour more. Instead, he said that he will get me a dish and I can pour whatever amount I wanted. I poured everything tongue I find the toast too thick so it takes abit of time for my toast to be soaked with milk. But I like it!
Bo luo bun

Bo luo bun

My partner ordered the bo luo bun. The pineapple slice stuffed in the middle of the bun makes it really interesting! But it's not something that I would rave about coz the taste somehow isn't quite right.

My toast complete with HK milk tea!

Recommended Dish(es):  milk, toast, tea

Spending per head: Approximately $6(Supper)

Mysterious once again Smile Nov 11, 2011
Categories : Café

After reading my previous review on Mysterious cafe, my friend decided to make me bring her there. Remember to ask for a devotee card if you order any stonegrill set (valid till 31 Dec 2011). Stamps not available for special priced item like groupon.
Hot stone grill squid

Hot stone grill squid

As usual, I ordered the hot stone grilled squid. Still taste yummy especially the brown sauce. I have the habit of pouring the entire bowl of sauce onto the stone while I cook. The potato salad and the coleslaw is yummy. I cleaned up everything!

My friend ordered the hot stone beef and I got to try a piece. The marinate was awesome. I got to try the marinated taste because unlike me, she didn't pour the entire bowl of brown sauce in when she cook.

There's free flow of ice cream we can choose from. There's chocolate, mint, yam, vanilla, strawberry and mango (which I thought was corn). My favorite would be the chocolate, mint and strawberry.

The service is still great and I saw how the crew tried to explain to a customer on how to cook his fish.

Spending per head: Approximately $19(Dinner)
