Japanese Gourment  OK Aug 05, 2013

Categories : Japanese | Coffeeshop | Ramen

While coming to this kopitiam for white beehoon, I found that beside the corner there's a Japanese Gourmet stall here. They have their own seat inside kopitiam, but quite small with only less than 7 tables.

Everything is self-service. I ordered their Katsu Don, is a bit different from those I had before. Theirs is in a whole egg shape, the katsu tasted not bad,but too bad not much sauce, so it was quite dry. The price is considered average, but the waiting time was long - I waited about 20mins for this. I might come back try their other food.

Master Crab Seafood Restaurant  OK Aug 04, 2013

I went there for dinner yesterday. I ordered teppanyaki tofu, deer meat and a soup for $33. Their portion was quite small, but just nice for 2 people.

The tofu was okay, prawn was quite fresh, the sauce was a bit sticky. The deer meat was quite tender but overall everything was just so so. The serving time took about 15mins, the price is considered a bit expensive for me. I will come back try their other dishes next time.

Canton Paradise 乐天小香港 OK Aug 03, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Dim Sum | Kids-Friendly

I was craving for dim sum, so came here with my sister. I went around 3pm, so there's not much people. Upon being seated, they give you a plate of peanuts which you need to pay for, so we told them we don't want.

After seeing the menu, I find that their dim sum was consider expensive
we ordered BBQ Pork Buns, 3 for $4.80. The outer layer was crispy kind, but it was not crispy when we had it and it was quite cold
inside filling was sweet but compared to Tim Ho Wan, Tim Ho Wan one is much better.

Haw gao cost $5.60 for 4 pieces. The prawn was quite big, however is very bland. The fried prawn dumpling with their special mayo sauce cost $7.80 for 5 pieces. It tasted very normal, not nice and don't worth it. I rather pay $7.80 for their roasted duck noodles.

Among 4 items that we ordered, only this custard bun 3 for $5.20 tasted not bad. Once I bit into the custard buns, the custard fillings oozed out with a distinct salted egg yolk flavour, not bad.

After GST and service charge, total cost $28.25 for just 4 kind of dim sum. It's actually very expensive when the food is just of average standard, it's not worth it. I won't come back for their dim sum but will come back to try their roasted duck noodles.

Cedele  OK Aug 03, 2013

Categories : Café

Last week went to city square for dinner, saw cedele cake look nice and having promotion so we ordered one. I had Chocolate Truffle cake, it was eggless! The chocolate was very dark and rich, but due to too creamy after few bites I got a bit sick of it. The service was not very good, we were standing there and the staff didn't bother to come over to us. We called them over but they just did not answer us. When we finally got their attention, they said if we wanted to order food please go to the cashier counter. It would be better if their service can be better and greet us with smile. huffy

Café Mosaic  OK Aug 03, 2013

I went there 2 days ago for dinner buffet, as they were having UOB card 1 for 1 promo, so it is quite worth to give it a try. There is little food to choose, but they had quite a lot of nice desserts.

Food wise was nice, seafood was fresh, sushi was nice but not much to choose from. Their topping up service was fast, service was very good, as we came here to celebrate my dad birthday. After the manager knew it,he help us light up the birthday cake and even asked those waitress to come over and sing us birthday song and offer to help us take picture.
