The deep impact sushi is a unique combination of seasoned baby octopus and tempura flakes. I think it is only available at Ichiban Sushi. It costs $2.10. It is actually one of my favourite because the tempura flakes go surprisingly well with the sushi. Ichiban Sushi has a lot of unique sushi and this is one of the must-try in my opinion.

Spending per head: Approximately $2.10

Kong Bak Pau Smile Aug 27, 2011   (Related Review)

Kong Bak Pau are chinese braised pork slices wrapped in those floury wraps of a pau. The kong bak pau at prima tower is outstanding. I'm not a big fan of pork because of the thick layer of fats and the pork smell. However, the braised pork at prima tower was well-prepared and it doesn't have that much fats. There was no unpleasant pork smell either. The sauce went perfect with the pork. The wrap, although looks thick, was actually pretty thin. Its very soft on the inside and I didn't get sick of the flour.

I highly recommend the kong bak pau! smile

Beijing Duck Smile Aug 27, 2011   (Related Review)

This is the first time I had Beijing Duck. Seen it in TV shows hundreds of times and it is indeed as good as they described. The skin is very crispy and the meat is so juicy and can be sliced off so easily. Its great when eaten alone or when wrapped in the..skin (?). The beijing duck goes well with the skin when dipped in the sauce. Do try both methods of eating it and decide which is your favourite! smile

Chicken Katsu Toji Smile Aug 24, 2011   (Related Review)

Out of all the Ichiban Sushi's chicken main dishes, this is my favourite. It is a chicken cutlet with scramble egg. This dish isn't offered in any of set meals that Ichiban Sushi has to offer so if you want additional items like rice, miso soup, chawanmushi etc, you'll have to "add-on" and it'll cost around the same as a set meal.

I normally share the cutlet with a friend or my mother because the cutlet is relatively big. I'll add-on a bowl of rice to go with it. The cutlet is like any other tender and juicy chicken cutlet you can find out there. What makes it different is the sauce and scramble egg. The sauce is sweet and it is perfect with the cutlet. Ichiban Sushi is usually very generous with all of the stuff the serve so don't worry about the sauce running out! It is more than enough for me smile

The main reason why I love this dish is the scramble egg. I prefer eggs that are not overcooked/fully cooked so when I saw that the scramble egg is more of the watery and not-so-cooked kind, I was thrilled. The egg sticks to the cutlet and together with the sauce, its just delicious.

The overall taste of the dish is just refreshing. Its easy to get sick of eating one piece of plain chicken cutlet. Ichiban Sushi's unique combination of ingredients with regular chicken cutlet never fail to satisfy my cravings. The cutlet costs only $10.90. Like always, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, for any occasion. Great food, great service, value for money!

FYI, there's normally a long queue during dinner time and you may have to wait up to 40 minutes so you'll probably want to go early. It is thatpopular smile

Hawaiian Pizza Smile Aug 18, 2011   (Related Review)

The Hawaiian Pizza is probably the most typical topping of pizza one can ever find, still, it is my favourite. It is a simple pizza, consisting of succulent chicken ham and juicy pineapple chunks and probably one of the lower calories pizza next to vegetarian pizzas.

Unlike most Pizza Hut's pizzas, their Hawaiian pizza is not overly salty and the pineapples give parts of the pizza a sweet taste. The pizza is not too dry and in fact, is pretty juicy because of the pineapple chunks and the thin layer of sauce (tomato? or something) on the pizza.
