Overeasy OK Dec 11, 2013

The ambience of the restaurant/bar is definetely a thumbs up! Situated just beside Singapore river, overseeing MBS, singapore flyer. It's really a good place for chill out. The location is great!

As for the food, i think that it's just normal. My friends and i were there to celebrate a friend's birthday. I ordered the eggskillet, thinking that it is something special but it turns out really quite disappointing. Firstly, the whole set is not serve hot. I thought since it's in a skillet, it should be hot? Apart from that, the sausages and sauteed mushrooms are just normal (sauteed mushroom serves cold). The price i paid ($18) not worth it for the skillet. My friend ordered the truffles mac and cheese ($12) and it tasted not too bad.

Overall, i'll recommend the place for it's ambience. Great place to chill and grab a drink chit chat with friends.

Obolo OK Dec 11, 2013

Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

Service was attentive and pleasant. They made sure we were comfortable, and even recommended a sampler box to us when we had trouble deciding what to have.

Finally settled on:
Salty Caramel Cheesecake - Really good! Perfect play of salty and sweetness. It also comes adorned with a mini macaron, which is a nice bonus. The macarons were a little disappointing.
Lemon Meringue Tart: Could do with a little less sugar in the meringue, but the lemon filling was deliciously sour. It also (thankfully) didn't leave a weird aftertaste which is pretty common in lemon meringe tarts.
Whilst the cakes were great, the latte and cappuccinos were a let down.

GELATO at GE!ATO OK Dec 11, 2013
Categories : Italian | Ice Cream and Gelato

This outlet is newly opened Gelato kiosk at Westgate. I was there on the 2nd day of opening and the shop was offering one for one promotion. Ge!ato serves a wide range of Gelato flavours. Personally, i find that the taste of the gelato is not too bad but there are quite a few Gelato shops that offers better quality. I tried the Hazelnut and strawberry yogurt. Since it was one for one, i paid only $3.00 for a double classic. There're other premium flavours such as durian, dark chocolate, sorbet and more.

Being a fan of hazelnut gelato, i find that their version is just normal as the taste it not that strong. Most gelato places offer hazelnut with hazelnut bits and chunks but Ge!ato doesn't and this made their version slightly plain.

Korean bbq OK Dec 11, 2013

Categories : Korean | Buffet | Korean BBQ

If you are craving for a carnivorous and appetizing buffet spread, Ssikkek will never go wrong. Whichever venue you go to, you are bound to stuffed yourself and leave the restaurant smoking with satisfaction ( if you don't overeat).

It's truly one of the authetic korean bbq restaurant however the taste is not so fantastic. The quality of food is just normal however the price is worth it as it is not so pricey. You can get a free flow bbq lunch buffet at $14++ and dinner buffet costs about $25++ but it comes with more food choices such as squids and prawns. It's a good place to chill out on a friday night.

The place is almost fully packed on friday night. Call to make reservation to avoid the waiting time.

Sakae Sushi OK Nov 19, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi | Kids-Friendly

I've always thought Sakae Sushi was just an average place to have Japanese food. They have the regular wooden benches next to the belt. I do like their computer ordering system which is more efficient. Service wise, it was slightly above average. The manager was nice, the staff were attentive, and the orders came quite quickly.

The ambience is great and cozy. The space between the table and chair is just right for me to eat comfortably. After an hour I saw the raw sushi is being replaced with a new one. It proved that Sakae Sushi served clean and fresh sushi. It is achieving its goals thumbs up.
