TWG Smile Dec 31, 2013

One of my favourite places is definitely TWG as it serves one of the finest tea.

Having an afternoon hightea at TWG is definitely luxurious. The macarons are not too bad as well with slight taste of their tea series (the macarons were on the house). On the other hand, the molten lava cake just tasted a little normal and slightly overpriced. The serving was a little small too.

Personally, i felt that TWG is a real good place for high tea however it is considered to be slightly expensive.

Saveur Smile Dec 31, 2013

Saveur is a place for affordable french cuisine.

After hearing alot of reviews about it, i finally got to try Saveur at Far east plaza. My friend ordered the duck confit which i thought it was quite nice. The serving is slightly smaller but the duck meat was not too bad. It was tender!

I ordered the chicken roulade. Serving was smaller than the duck confit. Compared to the duck confit, the chicken roulade was not as good. However, it was worth it for the price i paid ($9.90++). For side dishes, i ordered their pasta ($4.90) and the sauteed potatoes ($2.90). The potatoes are slightly salty.

Overall, i think that this is a good place for lunch or dinner!

Paul Bakery Smile Dec 31, 2013

Situated at the first level of westgate is the Paul Bakery. This bakery is one of my favourite!

Paul bakery offers a wide range of pastries that i think it worth trying for! I love the Strawberry mille feuille and it is probably one of my favourite pastry at Paul bakery. The mille feuille is soft and decadent. Furthermore, the price is considered to be affordable ($6 ++)

I tried the chocolate tart too which is not too bad as well. The chocolate tart is rich but not too sweet as it is made of dark chocolate. It worth a try!

The ambience of the restaurant is quite high class with chandeliers.

Ippudo Smile Dec 29, 2013

I finally tried Ippudo, the famed ramen joint with the infamous snaking lines. It's been a couple of years since the lauded ramen king landed on our shores and they now have 3 outlets.

The Shiromaru Motoaji ($15), Ippudo's original tonkotsu broth is what made them famous. I thought the full-bodied, albeit oily, soup base was decent, with hardly a sticky film present in most substandard tonkotsu broths. We chose the popular medium texture for the noodles (there's soft, medium, hard and extra hard to choose from), and it was a nice contrast to the still-crunchy cabbage, radish and black fungus.

Definitely one of the best ramen I've tried.

Delicious cafe Smile Dec 28, 2013

Visited the cafe on a weekday night at around 9pm for post dinner dessert.

The environment is perfect. Spacious and clean. Really like their interior design which is filled with pastel blue walls and bird cage wall prints.

I ordered their sticky date pudding which comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I think it wasn't too bad however the waiting time was too long. The sticky date pudding was chewy and I love their sauce.

Service was slightly slow probably due to the fact that it was around 9pm therefore they were busy with closing. It took more than 20 minutes for a dessert to come.
