Swensens' lunch special Smile Nov 19, 2013

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal

Swensens is one of the more popular american dining places around the urban area of Singapore. I really like swensens as they emphasize alot on their promotions especially the lunch specials. With one main course you order, you get a side dish for free! This is absolutely a great deal and definitely enough for the hungry souls as it is really filling.

One thing that needs improvement is their efficiency. It took quite some time for my order to be ready and by the time the food was on the table, i was already famished. And the waiting time can be slightly longer at times.

Dim Sum at Mayim Smile Nov 19, 2013
Categories : Dim Sum | Noodles

The dim sum was fresh and excellent, simple things like siew mai or cheong taste surprisingly better than many other places. I like that you can order the dim sum by pieces, so you don't have to order 4 xiao long bao. The minimum quantity for each dimsum is 2 pieces, just the right amount.

It's is also worth mentioning that the Chinese tea is only $1.20 per head and you get a cup that allows you to individually brew your tea leaves. Apart from that, i also favour their la mian which is delicious yet affordable (around $8 to $11 for a decent bowl)

Definitely will come again for other dishes.

Ding Tai Fung Smile Nov 05, 2013

Categories : Dim Sum

Went to this branch for the convenience but not a longer dinner to chat with friends as it is very packed during dinner time. Ding Tai Fung is just so amazing with their food which is of great value. Though the queue during weekends is really long, but if you are okay with sitting outside, the waiting time is about 15 minutes. My family and friends like the food, especially their famous "xiao long bao", where each of us can finish 10 each easily, on top of the other dishes.

Apart from that, the waitresses are friendly and helpful. They never fail to smile, even after working for the whole day.
This is one of my favourite chinese restaurant!

MAYIM RAMEN Smile Jan 20, 2013
Categories : Dim Sum | Noodles

Mayim serves a wide range of chinese delicies from ramen to dimsum. The dim sum is freshly made and juicy. it is cheaper compared to others. i highly recommend this place as it is clean and the service is good. They provide you with a basket to put your bag under your seats, rarely do you find restaurant which provides such services. I think it's pretty thoughtful! Food wise..... Price is reasonable and cheaper than other chinese restaurant such as Ding Tai fung, Dian xiao er and more.

However, might need to queue for awhile during peak hours especially weekdays. The wait will not be too long, about 15 - 20 minutes. If you don't wish to wait, you can make a call for reservation. They do accept reservation. Great place!

DIAN XIAO ER Smile Jan 20, 2013

This place serves really good duck and side dishes. But the only problem i have is the price and the bill. Too expensive for the type of food they are selling though it tastes great.
They would only give you a table once all your guest arrives. If not, they would make you wait till your family members or friends arrive. They do not allow 'chopping' or 'hoggin' of tables. Make sure you are punctual!
I ordered the Herbal Duck, it was great and nice, loved the dish! Helpings is a bit small for me though. Also, the kailan in Baby Kailan with Salted Fish & Lime was cooked thoroughly and retained its crunchiness, indicative of the swiftness and the strong fire applied during the stir frying process. The unique combination of salted fish and lime offered a refreshingly salty and sour thrill without being too over-powering.

Ambience is okay, very woody and loks like you are in a old Chinese Resturant.

Nice place though costly. Worth a visit though.
