Smoulder Smile Dec 28, 2013
Categories : Bakery | Desserts and Cakes

Smoulder is a confectionery offering bite size lava cakes that are baked daily in 9 different flavors. These little lava cakes are definitely cute. I really like it that Smoulder offers a diverse of flavours for the lava cakes instead of just the usual chocolate lava cake.

Flavours were sufficiently strong. Taste and feels of ingredients most satisfying. Especially enjoyed all the chocolate flavours, the pistachio and the rum raisin. Quality is good and packaging is also chic

One of the downside is that the lava cakes are abit expensive.

KungFu paradise Smile Dec 28, 2013
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Kids-Friendly

The restaurant has a specials menu, called The KungFu Hits, available from 11am - 5pm, Mon- Fri. All items on this menu are priced at $7.90. To order, diners are give a slip of paper to fill in what they want and the waiter/waitress will collect the slip.

The Steamed Custard Lava Bun ($3.90) is one of the few dimsums offered here. The bun had quite a thick skin and required a few bites to get to the bursting lava inside. Some parts are also not very liquid as well. Overall, it was not too bad but not one of the best i've tried.

One of the downside is that the restaurant charges for plain water.

Paradise dynasty Smile Dec 28, 2013

The la mian here was nice. Had la mian and it had scallop, half an egg, kelp, vege, prawns and tasty pork bone soup. Slurpilicous. Should eat it while it is hot.

The xiao long baos weren't too bad as well and it comes with different flavours. Apart from the usual pork xiao long bao, the restaurant serves more exotic flavours such as Garlic, Ginseng, Foie Gras, Black Truffle, Cheese, Crab Roe, and Szechuan. I tried the crab roe xiao long bao and it wasn't too bad. Very creative attempt of xiao long bao!

Service was friendly but the area at the inner portion of the restaurant could get pretty cold.

Brunch at toby estate Smile Dec 28, 2013
Categories : Australian / New Zealand | Café

Home for Toby's Estate Singapore is a large, airy, and bright converted warehouse in Robertson Quay. I think it's probably the largest coffee-centric cafe in Singapore. Having a high ceiling and so much space in a great location (it faces the river!) has many perks. Not only can you stuff a grand old coffee roaster on your grounds, you can go all industrial-chic on the decor and still leave lots of air space between each customer.

It helps that the coffees are one of the best along these parts of the river, and that the brunch options are at par, in that respect. Toby’s Breakfast ($16) is a worthy platter of barn-laid eggs, bacon, roasted cherry tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms and thickly-sliced brioche toast, while the paninis aren’t actually overpriced at $12.

Ikea  Smile Dec 24, 2013
Categories : Western Variety | Kids-Friendly

You would have thought that a furniture shop would sell furniture best. Be surprised that the food that they serve are great as well.

I always like to visit ikea (not only to look at the furnitures) but also have a meal there. I had the occasion to try the salmon set and the chicken wings in this restaurant, and I would say that they tasted great. The chicken wings had a crispy skin and the meat is tender. The only downside is that it can get really really hard to find a seat there. I really like their lingonberry drink too.

Moreover, the price is affordable.
