Hot and Hot Smile Oct 30, 2011

Pepper is one of my favourite spices. As the name of this stall suggested, the dishes were full of pepper. They have quite a good selection here. I ordered the spicy pepper beef and mushroom. Peppery alone was not enough for me, I wanted it spicy.
I like my food hot and hot (spicy), so this sizzling spicy hotplate was really good for me. Very yummy. In addition, the soup was miso soup, of course I added pepper.smile

Normally, I took photos of the dishes using my iPhone, which was more subtle. But today, I forgot to bring my iPhone, so I used my camera. When the waitress saw that I wanted to take a picture of the Tom Yam soup, she took the initiative to stir the ingredients up so that I could snap a good picture of it. What a great service!

We actually ordered a little too much today.

Kai Lan

Kai Lan

First, we had the Kai Lan, the sauce was tasty and the vegetable not bitter.
Tom Yam

Tom Yam

Then came the Tom Yam, clear soup type, not very spicy but the taste was authentic. No paste added.
Stuffed Chicken Wing

Stuffed Chicken Wing

The Stuffed Chicken was a little too meaty.
Steam Otah

Steam Otah

The steam Fish Otah had a strong coconut taste.
Steam Seabass

Steam Seabass

The last dish was the Steam Seabass. It was steam with onion, garlick, tomato and green lemon. The fish was slightly fishy but if mixed with the sour sauce, the result was not too bad. I liked the sour sauce.
Our total spending was about $120.

The stall

The stall

After a day of shopping, feeling tired and thirsty? Come to this stall and have a cup of fresh watermelon juice. Every night there is a offer for watermelon juice, $1 per cup. I have seen and heard this offer for many times but it was only tonight that I have decided to buy one. The normal price of one cup was $1.70 so it was a good deal.

$1 Watermelon Juice

The juice was fresh and sweet. Very Refreshing. It's a ideal choice to quench your thirsty. Since it's a juice from fresh fruit, it's very healthy. Cheaper than a cup of softdrink. Really worth it.smile

Yuki Mix Smile Sep 26, 2011

Nuts & Nibble

Nuts & Nibble

Wanted some snacks after dinner. Saw this kiosk selling nuts and dried fruits. A good and healthy snack for me. It really had a great variety of choices. All types of nuts and fruits. You could either choose a pure type of nut/fruit or a pre-mixed type. I didn't like nuts so I looked at the counter with the mixed fruits. Initially, I saw the one with a 'most popular choice' sticker on it. It was known as the 'Joyous mix'. I told the seller to pack 100g of it but at this moment something caught my eyes.

A 'Yuki mix'! That's a mix 'specially' for me.lol I asked the seller if I could change to this. The seller was kind enough to oblige.

The 'Yuki mix' contained guava, blueberries, strawberries, cranberries (I think) and a sweet unknown fruit. The dried fruits were very sweet, even the berries. My daughter liked the strawberries and blueberries the most. I liked the guava, always been my favourite. The unknown fruit was very sweet, at first I thought it was mango, but it's too soft. Might be some kind of pear. Must ask the seller when I next visit.

$3.30 per 100g.

Quite and Spacious Smile Sep 23, 2011

I believe this is the biggest of all the Hans restaurants. It was separated into two section, one for dining and the other a cafe.
The few times that I had been here were during the weekends or after office hours. It was very quite, not many customers during those times. If you are looking for a place to have a gathering of a big group of people, this is definitely a place you can consider. During those times when I was there, we had at least thirty to forty people, not including children. The staffs were very accommodating, they allowed us to sit and chat even after we had finished our dinner.
Hans has both Western and Local menu. Once I ordered the Aglio Olio (spicy) and upgraded it to a set, which included the soup of the day, coffee and dessert. It was delicious. I liked the capsicums. The set was worth it. smileThe cakes looked tempting too but after the set meal, I was too full to have any. Maybe another time.mad
