Beauty World Coffee Smile Aug 17, 2011
Categories : Hawker Centre

It was 3pm and I haven't had my cup of coffee yet. After I picked up my child from Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, I decided to go over to Beauty World Centre and have my lunch plus my cup of coffee. There were many coffee stalls at this food centre. I definitely would want my Chinese coffee. I am always afraid to make the wrong choice for my coffee, since I make myself a quota of 1 cup per day. So I decided to go for this stall, since I tried it before.
The taste of today's coffee was slightly thin, I preferred thicker ones, but the fragrance was good. It's acceptable for the day. $0.90 per cup.

In addition, this stall have homemade barley. Should give it a try.

Ben & Jerry Smile Aug 14, 2011

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Ice Cream and Gelato

It's a hot Saturday afternoon and we decided to go a cool treat. We drove to one of our favourite ice-cream cafe, 'Ben & Jerry's'. We like the one at the Dempsey Road. It has a nice ambiance.
We ordered a brownies with two scoops of ice-cream, Toffee-Do Crunch and Black raspberry frozen yogurt. The black raspberry was refreshing. It always nice to have a sour taste to compliment the sweetness of the brownies.

I ordered a single scoope 'coffee coffee buzzbuzzbuzz' favour ice-cream. Personally, I didn't really the chocolate in the ice-cream.
I really like the setting of this restaurant. A nice place to spend a relaxing afternoon. But the downside is that the toppings are slightly more expansive than other branches.

Chicago Miix Smile Aug 03, 2012

Some people would say that a popcorn is a popcorn, how different could it be, either salted or sweetened. I said these have not tasted Garrett Popcorn. Yes, it is inevitable that the Garrett popcorns also come in salty or sweet. But the salty one was actually salted with cheese. Very strong taste. Either you love it or hate it. The sweetened caramel one was very evenly coated. Every single 'pop' was glazed with the caramel. Unlike those sold in cinema, full of uncoated white plain popcorn. This was not the only difference, within the whole packet, there was not a single 'unpop' corn. Sure a pleasure munching while watching a TV programme. The Chicago Mix, both cheese and caramel, was my favourite.

This time the salegirl didn't shake the popcorn to mix them well. They usually do.

Seafood soup with Special rice Smile Nov 02, 2011

Though this food centre was a little cramp but it was very airy. There were fans all over the place. While my mum-in-law likes fish soup, I like seafood soup. This Golden Mile Fish looked busy with many patrons, should be good. I ordered a bowl of seafood soup with bitter gourd (苦瓜海鲜汤). I wanted to order the brown rice to go with the soup but unfortunately it was not available today. Instead they have a special rice called 'Caifan' (菜饭). It was rice with dark sauce cooked with cabbage and onion. Very fragrant and delicious. Good enough to be eaten by itself.

The soup was really very tasty. The seafood was fresh, bitter gourd was well-cooked and not bitter. Super nice. The set was only $4. Really worth it.smile

XL Chicken Pau Smile Nov 01, 2011

This drinks, desserts and fruits stall bears the name of '旺', either a branch or francise of the same name 'cha can ting' (茶餐厅). I was a little hungry and I saw this promotion. $2.80 for a XL Chicken Pau and a cup of coffee/tea. Worth it. So I bought it.

The chicken pau was really hugh. It was a soft. The skin of the pau sticked to my fingers, causing them to be sticky. Quite messy. I should have used a spoon/fork instead.
'Juicy' Pau

'Juicy' Pau

It was very tasty, lots of 'juice' in the chicken meat. In addition, it has a quarter of an egg in it.
I like pau with egg in them, gives it a different texture, so that you'll not find it too meaty. The milk tea was not too bad either.smile
