Secret Recipe at Anchorpoint OK Aug 16, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Restaurant | Desserts and Cakes | Steaks and Grills | Kids-Friendly

The secret recipe at anchorpoint was located just opposite the KFC at level one. The place was small and cosy and we choose a window seat that could see the traffic outside. The waiter and waitress there were all Malay but they were attentive to us. As we were quite full as we had a late breakfast, we just ordered chicken wings and marinated chicken satay and 2 butter rice. The chicken wing comes in 4 in a basket and was marinated with spices and were very flavorful. It was only $7.90! The chicken satay was tender and different from the satay sold at the hawker centre. It had more meat in a skewer and was not hard. It was served piping hot and the meat was tenderised. But there was one thing which i don't like is the serving were too little. Overall experience is fine.

Breaded pork set with egg

Breaded pork set with egg

smile My friend like Japanese food so we went to Ootoya Japanese restaurant for lunch. The place has a relaxed atmosphere upon entering. The place is decorated with simple furnishings like flowers in vase and low lightning. We decided to order the Breaded Pork set with eggs as the set comes with an appetizer and a soup. The scallop rice looks delicious on the menu so we ordered it too. The waitress who is a filipino is friendly and patient enough to wait for us to take our order. When the set arrived, the presentation was fantastic and the food looks tempting. As for taste, the breaded pork was not salty and healthy but i find the pork abit tough to the bite. They served cold water and it was top up by the waitress quite regularly. To finish our meal with something sweet, we have the green tea macha ice cream with red bean. It comes with syrup and the green tea was bitter sweet and refreshing, We will return again although the price is abit on the expensive side.

Toast Box lunch OK Aug 15, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop

lolGetting sick of eating at the coffee shop, we passed by the Toast Box at suntec city and decided to give it a try. We ordered the laksa noodles promotion at $5.95 that comes with barley drink to complete the meal. There was a generous serving of rice noodles, prawns, fish cake and some tau pok in the laksa. However, there was no cockles in the dish. The laksa gravy didnt failed to dissapoint me as it was thick and creamy. But i hope the gravy can be more spicy as i was a chilli lover. The mee siam was abit dissapointing as it tastes abit bland and sour and the ingredients was only an egg and some beansprouts. Toast box is famous for its coffee and I find the coffee was at the right taste and consistency as it was not too bitter and sweet and kept me awake and wanted to order another cup. The barley was cold and refreshing and best to drink on a hot afternoon day.

My brother and I were looking for something filling and reasonable priced to eat our lunch and we happen to be at Orchard central and saw Mos Burger. There was a short queue and the service staff was friendly. I like Mos Burger because the place is very clean and hygience. We ordered the Mos Chicken set and the order came within 10 minutes. The chicken was piping hot and juicy to the bite. With the milk tea, it was a complete meal!

I haven't been to MEN-ICHI Japanese ramen so decided to go in and try as i have a cravings for japanese food also. I ordered Tenshinhan, which is steam rice topped with crab meat and omelette in thick gravy. It was a small portion, and it's only $4.80.
It was quite nice.
We also tried the ocha at $1. We can add ramen toppings like seaweed, for $1, and $1.50 for corn and char siew.
