Chinese dining Smile Oct 12, 2011

A friend treat me to here when she just got her salary. We ordered Chinese tea and coke. The things here were quite expensive as one can of Coke cost $3.80 compared to $1.20 sold in food courts. They served prawn crackers and pickles which they charge at $3 per plate when i saw the receipt. The menu has meat dishes, seafood and also vegetable dishes.
Next, we ordered Steam Garoupa. It was very presentable as the fish were served with spring onion and parsley on top of the fish which makes it very irresistable. The fish meat was firm and fresh. Although the fish cost us $84 according to market price by the grams, we find it worth the money.
The broth of the sharkfin/fish maw soup was tasty and sweet. It was $152 per pot. It was quite alot if it was shared by 2 person.

Ramen day Smile Oct 10, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Ramen

Went to Shin-Sapporo Ramen located at Level one suntec city on a working day. It was a small and cosy shop with 3 to 4 service staff. The service staff were very attentive and introduce the different types of ramen to suit our tastes. In the end, we settled for Shin Sapporo Miso and Shio ramen which was recommended by the staff. The Shin Sapporo Miso comes in a set served with ice green tea and pork gyoza at $11.90.The presentation of the Shio ramen was very nice and the ingredients was generous. It has half a hard boiled eggs, corn, char siew meat, some bamboo shoot, beansprouts, sea weed and the soup broth was rich and tasty. The soup spoon they used were made of wood and was big enough to scoop the soup. It costs us around $32 for me and a friend but it was worth it.

A day at Mos burger Smile Oct 10, 2011

I like Mos Burger for its freshness of ingredients and the store is very clean. I ordered the latest promotion -Hot Teriyaki Chicken Burger at $3.95. I add on a corn soup and a small fries. Total i paid around $8.35 for a meal which is quite reasonable to me. The Hot Teriyaki Chicken meat is very tender and the burger comes with a dollop of mayonaise with lettuce. The bun is soft to the bite. The only thing which dissapoint me is the corn soup as there was not a single corn in the corn soup. I stirred my spoon around the soup and couldn't find any corn. However, the soup is piping hot and sweet and creamy.

Cosy and perankan restaurant OK Sep 26, 2011

My friend and I thought it was a Chinese restaurant as the place was decorated from red chairs to menu. On closer look, we realised it was a perankan restaurant. For our starter, we ordered Otak otak wrapped in pandan leaves. It was spicy and hot and we would come to dine again for this! My friend get the Hokkien seafood noodles and the noodles was served with thick brown gravy which tasted like oyster sauce and dark soya sauce cooked together. She like the dish as it was full of seafood like squid, prawns and fish slices at only $8.90. We also ordered spring roll with chilli sauce. It was crispy on the outside and piping hot on the inside.

A convenient lunch box Smile Sep 26, 2011

Categories : Italian | Pasta

Located at B1 inside Suntec City, this shop was together at one corner with other snack shops like Old Chang Kee, Ya Kun Cafe and Silin Taiwan snacks etc. At one look, the picture of spaghetti and pasta was pasted on the small shop and the prices ranged from $5.90 to $11.90. It sell a variety of pasta like spaghetti carbonara, seafood spaghetti and spaghetti bolognaise. I chose the spaghetti bolognaise at $5.90. The takeaway packaging was quite creative as it was served in a paper box with a handle. I waited less than 10 minutes for the spaghetti. It had a herb tomato sauce and it is not too salty. The serving was quite huge and they were generous with the tomato sauce.
