The restaurant was relatively quite for Monday night with about a couple tables occupied. Service was fast.

Pork Patty with Salted Fish and Water Chestnut 鹹魚马蹄煎肉餅 ($6++/ petite)
The patties looked simple and a tab dry but it was savoury and crunchy inside.

Salivating Spicy Chicken 囍宴金牌口水雞
($6.50++/ petite)
It looked quite spicy with the layer of chilli oil on top. There was cold silky smooth potato noodles buried underneath the pile of chicken slices and century egg wedges. While it was spicy, it was refreshing cold at the same time.

Deep-fried Shrimp Paste Fish Fillet with Pomelo Water Chestnut Salad 香茅蝦醬炸鱼柳配柚子沙拉 ($9++/ petite)
It looked different from the picture. An odd combination which worked refreshing well. It was a party in the mouth with savoury shrimp paste, juicy tart pomelo and sweet dressing.

Fried Lo Shi Fan with Xi Yan XO Sauce 客家XO醬干炒老鼠粉 ($12.80++)
Simply looking with wok taste and crunchy feel. Thought that it would be spicy with XO sauce but turned out that it was not.

Soba OK Jul 12, 2017

The outlet was the first overseas outlet by Tsuta 蔦 which originated from Tokyo, Japan, which was also known as the world's first and only Michelin-starred ramen eatery. The outlet was quite small and could only sit 18 at the counter. Order was taken through the self service machine. There was no queue as we reached the place past 9pm. The place was just half filled. We were showed to the end of the counter with water served to us.

Ajitama Shoyu Soba ($16.80)
Char Sui (1 slice), flavoured egg, bamboo shoot, leek & truffle pureed in truffle oil
Selected the original version.
The soup base smelt quite nice of the truffle, with a hint of it in the taste. The soup was surprisingly light in taste and not salty, just nice. The noodles was cooked just nice. The char sui was tender and tear easily. The egg had the beautiful yolk flowing out easily, while not salty in taste.

Ajitama Shio Soba ($16.80)
Char Sui (1 slice), flavoured egg, bamboo shoot, leek & green olives pureed in truffle oil
Selected the original version.
The soup was made of a chicken-seafood blend, with additional of Okinawa sea salt and Mongolian rock salt. The soup base was lighter than the shoyu version, with a very distinct minty taste.

Overall it was quite refreshing light and simple version of noodles soup without the fancy add on. There was none of the too salty soup base which I heard about.

Quite empty OK Jul 12, 2017

The place was pretty empty for a Saturday afternoon. We were showed to a booth table at the far end as it was one of the available pre-covered with disposable cover. There was also tissue paper and spicy hot sauce available on the table. Remember to help yourself to the plain water at the counter. Hand wash area was just next to the kitchen.

Combo Bag #02 ($40++)
350 grams prawns, 250 grams mussels, 300 grams clams, corn, sausages
served with Beurre Blanc sauce

When the food was served, we had the option to serve in the pot or pour everything onto the table. We decided to have everything on the table. The sauce was rich and creamy, went quite well with the seafood. The sausages were a tab spicy. The corn was quite juicy. The seafood was big and juicy.

Washed everything down with a glass of Pink Thyme Lemonade ($4++).

Time for some sweet Smile Jul 07, 2017

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Desserts and Cakes | Ice Cream and Gelato

It was a small outlet located in the 七福星咖啡 coffee shop, just across the street from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent). Although the menu was limited, but what's available were great.

Fairest Of All (S$7.50)
Belgian Waffle, topped with vanilla ice cream, homemade berry compote and homemade mango compote.
One of the 3 waffle choices available.

The waffle was crispy outside, while light and airy inside. The owner refused to tell what she had added to make the Belgian waffle so airy, just mentioned that it was a secret which she had gone through many trials and errors to find out.
The compote was not too sweet, packed with chunky juicy fruits, with the berries leaving a slight tart taste.

Salted Caramel Brownie
(S$2.50)
It was rich, moist and dense, without too sweet. The salted caramel sauce interestingly gave it a distinct salty taste. No wonder it was the most popular item on the menu. Another fact about the brownie was that it was so dark in colour that it looked almost black. Totally different from the usual brown coloured brownie which I was expecting. The owner shared that it was made with extra dark cocoa that was similar in colour to oreo cookies, which was why the colour was like black in colour. Best have it served hot, with a scoop of icy cold vanilla ice cream.

1-for-1 Smile Jul 07, 2017

Made a reservation before going to the restaurant. The place was not crowded. Selected the booth seat table which overlook the ground floor. Quiet end of the restaurant so a tab difficult to get the attention of the staff. Please note that plain water was chargeable, at $0.30++ per glass.

Enquired about 1-for-1 promotion by FEAST mobile application. The staff replied that its only available before 5pm which I replied it was not stated. The second staff replied that one redemption could used. But in the end, all 3 redemptions available at this restaurant on the application in my mobile phone were being processed as used by another staff. It was an confusing experience, but at least I received 1-for-1 my orders of 2 mains, pizza and pasta.

Hawaiian Pizza ($14.90++)
Say Aloha to this generous spread of honey baked ham, pineapple and shredded mozzarella cheese on a crispy crust served with pizza sauce.
Lots of liao on the pizza. Crispy fluffy base.

Grilled Chicken Fettuccine ($14.90++)
This amazing fettuccine is served with a hefty portion of grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes and garlic cream sauce.
It looked like noodle soup when served. The dish was tasty and the thick amount of sauce kept the noodles moist and hot.

Empire State BBQ Pork Ribs ($17.90++)
Fall in lover with this tender pork ribs rubbed with signature spice seasoning and flavoured with homemade BBQ sauce. Served with fries and mesclun salad.
The serving was huge. The meat was tender and well flavoured, tear easily from the bones.

Grilled Salmon with Thermidor Sauce ($17.90++)
Salmon grilled the way you like with a themidor sauce and served with mashed potato and buttered vegetables.
The fish was juicy and moist. The themidor sauce was a tab of sourness.

The place was just next to a playground where the little ones could have their fun while the adults eat.
