Poh Piah OK Oct 29, 2011
Categories : Singaporean | Hawker Centre | Kids-Friendly

the queue here is always amazing but it is worth the wait as I love the killer garlic and chilli. They has been there since a very long time.

My conclusion, this poh piah tastes good with the balance is just right. The only problem is that it is a little limp and the skin (handmade but procured from elsewhere) just lacks that chewiness of which the Qi Ji one is still currently the gold standard.

perhaps maybe I should ask the uncle to make a specially turgid one for me!!

Tea Time (Coffee Actually) OK Oct 22, 2011

Categories : American

Tried to have the Chicago Cheesecake accompanied by cappuccino (tall) which sum up to about S$10 +/-.

The cheesecake is not bad and I can say it is quite good even though I prefer the breadtalk's one better. While the cappuccino really suits my taste and with additional of 2 sachet of sugar, it tastes nice. smile

Recommended for those who want to chit chat and also talk about school project or business but take notes that during peak hour, studying is not allowed.

Lunch OK Oct 16, 2011
Categories : Japanese

Located at B2 Takashimaya Food Hall. It sells different types of okawa, sticky glutinous rice with variety of ingredients. This restaurant is recommended for those who seek traditional Japanese stall that provides Japanese dishes with affordable price. Sometimes it is packed during lunch hour but the waiting time is really considerable short.

Try the chestnut okowa @ $7.80

Visited this Mr Bean store after my group work on Sunday. It left me with no choice but to buy some food from Mr Bean since no food court opens on Sunday at Singapore Polytechnic. Soya Milk, Soya Bean Curd and Red Bean Pancake

I ordered the pancake and the soya milk. I myself do not like the smell of pancake including mr bean's one but it is not a sin to give a try.

The soya milk is very fragrant and has strong soya smell..
The pancake has a vanilla essence and the red bean paste is very nice.

The service is good. The shopkeeper is really nice.

Nice for our wallet too. smile

COMEBUY OK Sep 27, 2011
Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

The whole shop layout is similar to Koi Cafe. Besides having similar layout, they make use of numbering system too. The price range is similar to Koi Cafe.

Personally, I will try the milk tea from the bubble tea shop to decide whether to patronize again. So during my first visit to Come Buy, I bought Pearl Milk Tea. I feel the milk tea isn’t as creamy nor milky as Koi Cafe. The milk tea taste rather powdery.

After the first visit, I decided to patronize Come Buy again to try the Passion Fruit Black Tea.
During my second visit, I ordered Passion Fruit Black Tea with less pearl (70% sugar). From the picture above, it is obvious that the colour of the Passion Fruit Black Tea is so much darker, it looks like those you get from Sweet Talk or Each-a-Cup.
The taste of the passion fruit isn’t that strong. Instead, I feel as though I am tasting passion fruit syrup which I usually taste when I don’t shake my Each-a-Cup passion fruit properly.
J and I did not finish the drink and discard it. I didn’t want to throw it away because it is wasteful but J told me to just discard it because he doesn’t like it at all.
Maybe there are nicer drinks from Come Buy which is worth the try but until someone tells me something nice from Come Buy, I’d rather spend 40 minutes queuing up at Koi Cafe than spending money at Come Buy.
