My family and I went to Singapore Expo to attend a seminar, & when there was a break during lunchtime, we walked around to find somewhere to dine. Most of the eateries & fast food restaurants were very crowded - there were some other events being held at the same time at the Expo. Decided to dine at Lerk Thai as there was a shorter queue & we were in abit of a hurry. Plus, we had never dine in Lerk Thai before so at the same time, we could try the food there too. My brother and I ordered the Tom Yam Fried Rice, while my sis saw many others eating the pineapple rice & so decided to order it. My dad, being a vegetarian, chose a vegetarian fried rice which was offered on the menu. The food took quite a while to arrive - there was alot of people & even the manager was helping to serve dishes and wipe the tables. When they finally arrive, we were so hungry that I only managed to take the photo of the pineapple rice... We tried each other's food, but I still think my Tom Yam Fried Rice is the nicest. Pineapple Rice is also not bad, while I dun really like the vegetarian fried rice (my dad said it was ok). Overall, the food is nice, & portions are just nice. Just to note: There are many parking spaces, but parking charges are quite high, so do take public transport if possible! Recommended Dish(es):

Bugis is a place where there's alot of food to eat, & I passed by Ah Chew Desserts while exploring the place & so decided to give it a try. I was with 4 of my friends, & the place was pretty crowded, so it took awhile before we were ushered in by a waiter at the door. Their menu was placed under the glass on the table, which i think is a really clever idea since one can see all the desserts available without having to flip a menu. But the downside is that the words are quite small, since everything was squeezed in a page. Placed our orders & the desserts came quite fast, although there were alot of people. The thing i like about this place is that they serve both hot and cold desserts, plus you can have additional toppings, such as ice-cream on top of your desserts. Had a really satisfying 'desserts meal', haha! Liked the mango sago with pomelo BEST! ^^ Thing to note: Place is quite cramped, so try not to bring shopping bags or whatsoever in.
Unique!

Tinking since my brother's birthday was near & my family often goes to Swensen's for dinner, i decided to surprise my brother on his birthday by bringing the whole family to Swensen @ IMM to celebrate. The place was not very crowded despite it being dinner time, so i didnt have to wait to get a place for 6. Menu was quite intensive, with some new items added which i didn't see from my last visit. We ordered quite alot of food, plus a 1kg birthday cake since there was no small cake available. Their mushroom soup was served in a sourdough breadbowl, & the taste was nice. Other foods we ordered include prawn and fruit salad, caesar salad and caesar salad with breaded chicken (we're a salad family, haha), portions are quite small (& quite ex)though, so try to order other food. The thing i liked about their menu was that the heathy symbol was beside those healthier choices, allowing patrons to make a better & informed choice. We also had baked rice, chicken baked rice, curry chicken baked rice, and mushroom baked rice. They had crackers on top of the curry chicken baked rice, a nice touch to it! There's free parking at IMM, but parking spaces are usually full, even during wkdays, so do try to take public transport if possible~!
Delicious!

My dad's a vegetarian & it is almost an uphill task to find vegetarian food whenever we were out together as a family. Sometimes, it was so bad that we had to eat zi char, minus the garlic & meat that they usually put in vegetable dishes. Thus, when my dad's b'dae was near, i asked around for nice vegetarian places which i could bring my dad to. Someone recommended me Forest Dew Vegetarian Restaurant, & so i decided to give it a try. We ordered their specialty dishes, which included Stir-fried Watercress ($4), Olive Rice ($3.80), Pineapple Rice with Veggie Floss ($6), Black Pepper Mushroom Meat Balls ($10), Satay and Hotplate Tofu. The watercress was crunchy, unlike some places where vthe egetables are normally soggy. The olive rice and pineapple rice was not too oily, just nice. The best was the black pepper mushroom mock meat balls & mock satay, they tasted just like real meat! It's a must order when u come here! Tofu was a tad too oily, must remind the counter staff for less oil if u were to order this. The prices here are also quite reasonable despite it being a restaurant, & the food is nice. Order is to be written on a sheet of paper, & taken to the counter though. The good thing is you are able to request for less oil, MSG or spiciness, but do remember to remind them cos although i ticked the 3 request boxes on the paper, the food that arrived was still rather oily. Another addition plus point to take note, it is a 100% REAL vegetarian restaurant, which doesn't serves eggs or onion! Try to take public transport, as the carpark outside the restaurant is quite small, & it takes some time to find a parking space!
Rather oily, but nice!

Wanted to meet up with my former teacher & didnt knw where to go for lunch & catch up with each other. She asked whether i was okay with American western food & suggested going to Blooie's at the Rail Mall (Upper Bukit Timah) for lunch. When i saw the menu, my 1st thought was 'omg, it's quite ex!'. After eating though, i don't mind as much as before as the food was really nice, especially the deep fried button mushrooms ($13.30)! The juice from the mushrooms literally burst out into your mouth on the first bite! It's nothing like I ever ate & i'm been trying hard to replicate it at home, but to no avail (it doesn't turn out that juicy). For mains, ordered a bacon carbonara for myself, while my teacher had a medium rare steak. Both were just as good, a really satisfying lunch indeed! Will surely come back for my mushrooms soon!
