Ice Cream Feast @ Swensen's! :) Smile May 30, 2013

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal

After having dinner, my cousins and I had cravings for ice-cream, so we decided to have some at Swensen's. Swensen's have a wide range of ice cream flavours, so naturally we thought of having ice cream there. We ordered their 'Giant Earthquake', which consisted of 8 scoops of different types of ice cream, topped with cherries and whipped cream.

Giant Earthquake was served it with dry ice in the middle, making it look really grand and delicious. As there were 4 of us, each of us got to choose 2 different flavours of ice-cream. We chose Butterscotch, Hazelnut, Durian Supreme, Milo, Mocha Almond Fudge, Ol' Fashioned Vanilla, Mango and Lime Sherbet. However, to our dismay, our ice cream arrived half-melted. Apparently, it was left on the counter for quite some time before it was served to us as the staff forgot about it. sad

Butterscotch: This tasted just alright to me. Plain boring butterscotch, nothing special.
Hazelnut: Light hazelnut flavour.
Durian Supreme: The BEST of the lot. Strong durian flavour, smooth and yet you could feel bits of durian meat in between. A definite must have!
Milo: Just milo. But still nice nevertheless. A must try if you're a Milo lover like me! smile
Mocha Almond Fudge: Mocha flavoured, with bits of almond in between. Nice combo.
Ol' Fashioned Vanilla: Nothing could go wrong with vanilla right? smile Smooth texture, and have a strong vanilla smell to it. Must-have in every ice-cream feast.
Mango: Nice and sweet mango-flavoured. I love mango ice-cream, so this went down with me well.
Lime Sherbet: This hit the right notes with me. Lime flavoured, with the right amount of sourness to it. Refreshing!

Overall, the price is worth it since we got to choose our own flavours for the ice-cream, and the ice cream itself are not bad too. Definitely will go again! Just hope our ice cream will be served frozen! tongue

My 1st drink from Gong Cha Smile Jan 03, 2012

Categories : Taiwanese | Chinese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

My friends were always raving about how good and nice Gong Cha was, but as I wasnt a big fan of bubble-teas and the likes, i usually brush them off and stand aside while they were queue-ing for it. However, as I was thirsty and there wasnt a shop selling drinks except Gong Cha around, I decided to ask my friend to get me a honey lemon when my friend was queue-ing in the line. Luckily they had honey lemon, if not I wouldnt want to get anything even though i was really thirsty. (I simply adore honey lemon) tongue

My fren passed me my honey lemon, and I took a sip. Surprising, their honey lemon was not bad at all! It was actually quite nice and soothing to the throat on such a hot and humid weather. It wasnt too sweet either (since we get to choose our preferred sweetness). It didnt take me long to finish the whole cup and wanting to buy another one. tongue

Overall, will buy their honey lemon again, though it was take some persuading from my frens for me to buy their other drinks.

Cheesy Crumble Smile Dec 09, 2011
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

Woke up late and since it was alrdy 2pm, I decided to call for delivery as I was lazy to go down to the coffeeshop to buy my lunch. I called Pastamania Delivery and someone picked up the call very fast. I like calling for Pastamania Delivery as it is fuss-free and simple. Address have to be only given for the 1st time you call for Pastamania Delivery, subsequently, they would know your address alrdy and it saves alot of time repeating everytime you order from them.

I ordered a Cheesy Crumble, while my sister ordered the Ham and Sausage Baked Rice. Estimated delivery time was about 30-45mins. Normally, the food would arrive in 30mins. smile

When the food came, it was still hot (also one of the things i like about Pastamania Delivery). smile The cheesy crumble came in a different packaging as the Ham and Sausage baked rice. It came in a cardboard container, while the baked rice was in a plastic microwavable container. There were alot of cheese sprinkled generously on top of the spaghetti. After that, i mixed and stirred it all up so that there were cheese everywhere. smile

The taste was nice, since i love cheese (of cos i will say it's nice). Haha. tongue The spaghetti wasnt too hard or too soft, cooked just right. Only thing i regretted was not ordering the chicken ham or turkey bacon chicken crumble, cos this cheesy crumble i ordered was quite plain, and i was practically only eating cheese with spaghetti noodles. LOL. mad

Overall, good service, although maybe i feel they could do away with the minimum $10 for delivery. Another thing to note, if your're thinking about ordering cheesy crumble, maybe you should order the one with the ham or bacon to make it not so plain.

McDonald's for lunch! Smile Nov 22, 2011

Categories : American | Fast Food | Ice Cream and Gelato | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

Was in the vicinity near Centrepoint and as i had a sudden craving for Mac, I decided to find a McDonald's nearby to settle my lunch. Didnt knw where the nearest Mac was so had to ask ard.

The fast food restaurant was located at a corner, quite hidden i feel. Found a table and my fren sat down while i ordered food for both of us. Ordered 2 sets of Filo-o-fish meal, one with upsized (mine, as i wanted to try their shaker fries), and the order was for my fren. There wasnt a queue even though the place was crowded, so i gt to order very fast.

The good thing is that there was the lunch special from 12 to 3pm ($4.50 for all set meals), so my upsized wasnt too expensive too. smile My drink i had changed to ice lemon tea, which was my fav, while my fren didnt change and so gt a coke. The cashier gave me alot of fries, both the fries we received were filled to the brim. smile I poured all of mine into the shaker bag and poured only half the seasoning into the bag as i was afraid it was very spicy. Turned out my worries were in vain as the fries was not spicy at all. The seasoning just had a 'spicy' taste, but mostly it's just salty (like most seasonings).

The filo-o-fish was not very hot, but hot enough to satisfy me. Both of us had filo-o-fish. The fish was soft and there was a generous amount of tar tar suace in the bun.

The place was quite noisy though as there were many ppl, and i even saw ppl eating food bought from other places (not Mac), and occupying the seats in Mac.

As usual, too hungry to notice i didnt take a photo, until i finished all of it. LOL. mad

PastaMania Delivery! Smile Nov 02, 2011
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

I had woke up at 12noon and was lazy to cook my own lunch. The fridge was empty of ingredients anyway so I decided to call for delivery. There were many delivery options but as i felt like having pasta, i decided to call the PastaMania Delivery Hotline. I went online to their website to take a look at the menu before calling.

Went thru the menu but none of the pasta caught my eye, so decided to have their baked rice instead. I ordered a Ham Sausage Baked Rice and a bottle of Minute Maid Puply Citrus, as their minimum order have to be $10, and having only the baked rice doesnt meet the requirement. The person who answered my phone was polite, and he took my orders fast and fuss-free too. The estimated delivery time would take 45mins-1hr, he said.

However, to my surprise, my food arrived in just 30mins and less! The food was also piping hot, while the drink was cold! I was pleasantly surprised as normally when i call for delivery, food often arrive to my doorstep not really warm and the food soggy. This was the 1st time I received such piping hot food (& also the 1st time i ordered PastaMania Delivery).

The baked rice contained mushrooms, ham and sausage, and enough cheese to satisfy the cheese lover in me. The rice was also cooked just right, not hard and not too dry at all. It was delicious and i had a very satisfying lunch indeed. As for the drink, needless to say, it quenches my thirst and make me feel cool since it's cold.

The thoughtful part of it all is that utensils provided are those biodegradable kind, which doesnt harm the environment (thumbs up!) smile . A packet of tissue with the words 'Reserved' is also given for customers to wipe their mouth clean after the meal.

Delivery Surcharge is only $2.50, which i think is very reasonable. Total i paid was only $14! I would definitely order thru their delivery service again! smile
Still piping-hot!
