What I like:
1) they fry per order at a time when you order

2) the finished product is a piping hot plate of moist noodles that very flavorful, love the little bits of lard

3) option to add more green vege to your not-so-healthy CKT

4) the sprinkling of crispy silver fish as final garnish

What I don't quite like:
1) shop only give ONE chopsticks and ONE spoon per plate, I wonder who had ripped them off so badly that they are so guarded about their disposables

2) lady boss would very calculative-ly count the number silver fishes she sprinkles on my plate, I mean seriously, silver fish so small also count like dat?!? *shake head*

Would I return? I'm a sucker to good food so yah... Heh

Prawn Noodle 👍🏼 Smile Sep 05, 2015

Very good soup.

Chilli version is nice but not spicy enough (even with lots of Chilli).

I guess because they also sell laksa and Chilli mee, the ingredients they give is the same of all types of noodles, just with different soup or gravy. Of all the ingredients they pump into your bowl, I love their soft ribs ingredient most!!

Ok with Groupon Deal OK Aug 04, 2015

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

Bought a groupon voucher to have a Sunday lunch there with the family.
Parking to get there is indicate rather painful as there is a short of parking in front of the shop but we were not confident of getting any lots so we tried our luck with parking within the private estates instead.
The interior furnishing of the restaurant is a little old but to me, food quality is more important anyway.
We ordered:
Cold green tea noodles - ok good. Decent portion served over ice as expected.
Beef slice Udon Soup - disappointing as my friend commented that Sakea Sushi make their way better
Deep Fried Pork Cutlets - ok good, a tad thin...
Deep Fried Chicken - ok good, you can't go wrong with fried food right?
Grilled Mackerel with Salt - ok...I'm not sure they cleaned the stomach area well. Got quite a bit of bitter taste there.
Chawamushi - good. Smooth and tasty with ingredients at the bottom of cup.
I'm not sure if I would return there specifically as there are many many Japanese restaurants that serve decent Japanese fare with easier parking and roughly the same price tags.

Decent food & service OK Aug 03, 2015

Read some pretty awful reviews of Bobby's and since I have bought the Groupon Voucher, we are gonna give this place a chance.

Our party of 3 came here for dinner on a Friday night and this place was buzzing at 8pm. The restaurant was already half full when we arrived.

They have a pretty extensive list of American favorites and we ordered:
* Calamari - beautifully deep fried with a nice batter. I like the accompanying cream dip

* Onion Rings - credit for using real onion rings instead of frozen ones. Enjoyed the natural sweetness of the yellow onion with a generous coating of batter, luckily it's not too heavy the batter.

* Kurobuta Pork Chop - 2 slices of pork chops over a bed of smooth mash and generous serving of rocket leaves with

* Prawn & Bacon Aglio Olio - I think it's a decent fish and the ingredients are generous. Tho I find the many ingredients a tad confusing in a way. Having said this, I'd probably order this again.

* Hangover Burger - hubby had this and he found it quite nice. I stole a bite and I thought the beef was juicy and flavourful. I liked the combo of it!

* Chocolate Volcano - brownie + ice cream + whipped cream = how NOT to LIKE

* Tiramisu - decent taste and a good slab of it

* Creme Brûlée - a little tiny in size but taste great! 👍🏼

With groupon vouchers, we would come back for more.

Sad Waffles Cry Jul 27, 2015
Categories : Café | Ice Cream and Gelato | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

To be fair, we only went there for desserts. My one star rating was mainly for the sad state of their waffles and ice cream.

The waffle came with 2 scoops of ice cream with was decent. The main problem was the waffle! We could see something was not quite right when the waffle looked really brown. We didn't smell any burnt  smell so we thought maybe the waffle had some chocolate in it.

This establishment is called Bricks n Cubes which was very apt to describe the condition of their waffles. Their waffles had the texture of a brick with small cubes cutout as design. We did raise the matter with their chef and he agreed to change our order for us. Unfortunately, the replacement waffles were no better and we thought as good gesture to make good of our dining experience, the chef would have at least also added a complimentary scoop of ice cream on the replacement waffle. But we were wrong.

So we just ate as much of the hard, tasteless and unappetizing replacement waffles as we could (as we didn't have anymore ice cream to soften anything). We didn't want to waste food but the waffles were really quite quite sad...

It's quite sad as the establishment had the potential to be a really great place for adults and kids to eat & place but the food is so below par. 😞
