lazy saunday evening dinner Smile Mar 23, 2011

stumbled upon this place when i was in the area with my freind. decided on eating there since it was the weekend and wanted to splurge; my decision proved to be pretty good!

very attentive service and the waiters were very well-informed with the menu choices; the sashimi were very fresh and the sake was refreshing. it wasn't too crowded, and the decor was very intimate, so i'd recommend bringing your date here if you wanted to impress her on your first date. =)

Ultimate supper spot! Smile Sep 23, 2010

After a wild night clubbing at Zouk, a bunch of clubbing mates and I decided to head down to Spize for supper, a pick-me-up, a whatever you call it. =)

as expected, it was rather crowded; we waited around 20 mins before getting a table. being a regular there from all my clubbing exploits, we ordered the usual suspects- murtabak, pratas, nasi goreng, and of course, the milo dinosaur drinks.

the food came after awhile- it didn't disappoint. the murtabak was filled with chunky mutton pieces, slices of onion and the sauce that accompanied it made it a very delicious combination and our table devoured it pretty quickly. the cheese prata was also quickly wolfed down; and all washed down with our favourite sugar rush- the milo dinosaur! the milo powder, on top of the ice milo, was the perfect end to our supper.

the ultimate supper spot after a wild night's of clubbing- spize, no doubt. =)

Best out of all outlets Smile Sep 23, 2010

Was having a dinner there with my partner after work. Drove over there on a rainy thursday evening; was rather empty when we arrived. Got seated at a quiet booth at the back, with the park view.

The sashimi slices and assorted sushi that we ordered were very fresh; one could almost feel the tuna and salmon swimming just before it was served to us (no kidding; it's really that fresh).

The cold green tea soba that we shared was also very good- the al dente style, coupled with the sauce(?) acocmpanying it added a nice texture to the taste.

My partner ordered the ramen which came rather quickly. And what could be more refreshing than a bowl of steaming hot ramen during a cold and rainy evening? =)

the quiet outlet, the rainy evening and the warm and comforting food = pure bliss. =)

Catch up venue Smile Sep 23, 2010

Went to NYDc at Holland Village the other day for a catch up session with my friends before we were all busy with our lives.

The NYDC outlet at Holland Village is a very chill out kinda place; somewhere when you can just relax, chill out, gossip with some close friends and while away your afternoon. The service was rather prompt (maybe because we were there on a weekday afternoon), and it was playing Top 40 hits from MTV.

I ordered baked rice which was pretty decent. The mozarella cheese had not really overpowered the entire dish so i still had space for the floats that we ordered.

Comfort food at not too expensive prices. =)

and oh, they have huge stuffed toys that you can hug with while waiting for your food to arrive. =))

Tries, but didn't really get it Smile Sep 22, 2010

My colleague and I stumbled upon this Ice monster shop whilst shopping in Plaza singapura one thursday evening, just after our work. Having tried the original version at Taipei, we decided to try the Singaporean version to see how much the differences were.

I ordered the kiwi ice and my colleague mixed fruits ice; the kiwi slices were quite fresh for mine, and it went well with the ice shavings and the syrup. My colleague, though, complained about the strawberries being a little too sour for her taste. Oh well, looks like maybe they have their off days?

Overall, i wouldn't say that it's the perfect substitute for the Taiwanese version, but if you're in the vicinity shopping, it's a good place to rest and recharge.
