fried hokkien mee Smile Oct 25, 2011

Categories : Singaporean | Food Court | Hawker Centre

This is one of my all time favourite hawker food and I love it for the intense prawn stock taste. I believe Hokkien Mee must be fried using the thin bee hoon and not the thick ones as many use. By stir frying the bee hoon first, you have the wok hei taste to it. The follow-on adding of prawn stock to simmer allows for all the goodness and richess to be absorbed in the bee hoon. I usually wait at least 30 minutes for this and am continuously impressed that the order takers will remember each person's orders religiously and without messing the queue. Overall rating was great and I'm sure hokkien mee lover will definitely love it!

chicken rice Smile Oct 13, 2011

Categories : Food Court | Chicken Rice

Always seen long queue at this chicken rice stall especially during sat & sunday afternoon. I Ordered half a chicken and comes with a small bowl of soup. The chicken was very fat chicken which i judging from the size of the chicken , meat was relatively tender which tasted not delicious. Soup was also great, had a second serving because the first bowl serving was little. The rice also tasty and not very oily. Ambience are just a oridnary food court nothing fancy here. Place was jam packed and lucky we manage to find a table upon we step in to the food court.

Their bak chor mee was nice, to be further introduction, the noodles was smooth and chewy (noodles are delicious to me) . The ingredients was generous with nicely marinated mushrooms and bak chor. The soup was good and you would not feel thristy which seems no MSG added! With all the nice maintain and delicious done ingredient by the shop owner, is worth trying for those bak chor mee lover!

Pass by GM food center after long hour of grocery shopping, feeling so thursty and hungry. So my partnar and i suggested for refreshment and have some light food. Decided to go for the popiah as both of us dont even eat popiah for months. Their popiah have generous with the filling, especially, the vegitable with crunchy feel was great. Popiah skin was thin which are easy to chew and swallow for old folk with no teeth or with denture. perfectly done popiah, i will soon patron again!
