Wraps at its best! Smile Feb 08, 2012

Categories : Indian | Halal

I stumbled upon this stall purely by accident as it was located at the basement of Tampines Mall. My friend and I, decided to give this place a chance as it appeared to be pretty packed with people; hence we assumed the food would probably be good and Prata Wala did not disappoint.

We decided to try something new as we were both getting sick of rice dishes for main courses. The wraps looked pretty tempting; I was rather skeptical at first as I have never tried an indian wrap but my friend assured me it would be decent.

There were two wraps that came as a set. Despite being vegetarian, the vegetable wrap was filled with delicious ingredients such as samosa bits, a variety of vegetables and a few different kinds of sauces. Strangely, none of the ingredients tasted raw as one might have imagined! It was not only delicious but healthy as well as really filling!

I rate this dish 8/10

This is one place that will always have me coming back for more!

A friend had introduced me to Chilli's almost a year back and I have been a regular customer ever since. I have also patronized their restaurant at Sentosa which I felt was slightly more laid back. Chilli's has a veggie section in the menu for vegetarians and I'm pretty sure they would be able to cater to vegans too.

The veggie burger came as a pretty big portion and was accompanied by fries. My friend had the Mushroom Pasta which according to her was pretty good. It was served with garlic bread and the serving was pretty huge aswell.

A must try is the texas cheese fries! its usually served with bacon but there is a veggie option available. The cheese sticks are also one of the best I've tried so far & The milkshakes are to die for lol

They also have set meals which is huge saver that comes with a free flow of soft drinks but its only available during weekdays at a certain time frame.

Going Ga-Ga for Gelato's! Smile Jan 26, 2013

Categories : Italian | Ice Cream and Gelato

Who does not love ice cream? Fattening as it may be, most of us have endless cravings for ice cream. Sometimes, we even combat getting over break up's or stress through ice cream. Gelato was probably the next best thing apart from ice cream. Being a fat free indulgence that comes in a variety of flavours is pure genius. One of other best gelato's I have ever had was from my new found favourite at change airport - Gelateria Italia. Staff are very welcoming and invite individuals to have a try at their flavours before making the purchase.

Staff here are very patient and would not shun you even if you wanted to try 2-3 flavours before purchase. There are lots of flavours to choose from. From the classics like chocolate, vanilla, chocolate chip to extravagant ones such as Bailey's (which was amazing) and blueberry yoghurt (which is very refreshing). The bailey's had a nice aroma and was very light yet satisfying to any alcoholic's craving (without the guilt).

The blueberry yoghurt gelato had that sweet-sour taste and was not too sweet. The blueberries in the yoghurt complimented it well.

My boyfriend got the Ferrero rocher gelato's in normal and in dark. I decided to try some of it and was amazed to find that the gelato had actual Ferrero rocher bits in it which gave it that actual crunch.

The sizes of the cups were in small, medium or large.

Hot chocolate galore Smile Sep 19, 2012

Categories : American | Coffee

I have always patronized Starbucks for those Sunday morning frappe's and famous brews of coffee that are made from fresh coffee beans. Little did I know that their hot chocolate is one of the best I have ever had. Rich and creamy, it gives a melt in the mouth impression. It is also generously topped up with fresh whipped cream which makes the beverage slightly thicker and leaves a very lasting impression. It's perfect for those chilly nights or rainy days as it keeps one warm. Found a great substitute to iced mocha which usually keeps me awake at nights!

The hot chocolate here is worth every penny! 10/10!

Starbucks also has their own gift card range and that acts as a value card. This card can be topped up and members get points for every purchase. They also get to claim a slice of cake on their birthday month! smile

I paid $7.80 for a large cup! sufficient for sharing smile

Naan's for supper Smile May 27, 2012   (Related Review)

Categories : Indian | Restaurant | Vegetarian

I am a frequent customer of this restaurant especially for supper. Mainly due to the nice warm food thats served that really calms the senses. This time round, we decided to try their naan basket. Portion was pretty good and there were 2-3 different varieties of naan's. There were plain naan's, butter naan's and sweet naan's. Portion would be enough for 3-4 people. The naan's didnt rise to my expectations though as my boyfriend and I found them pretty hard. Naan's are technically supposed to be soft and fluffy.

We had a side dish for Paneer Tikka Masala which is highly recommended. There were a generous portion of indian cheese cube in thick creamy gravy. The dish was slightly spicy and went very well with the naan's.

We also ordered the Gobi Manchurian which is technically fried cauliflowers. This dish has a combination of spices and gives a sweet-spicy outcome. The cauliflowers were crispy aswell. It's perfect for anyone who hates vegetables or for kids as it tastes nothing like cauliflower. One of my Must have's everytime I visit!
