Cheesy Chicken Sausage Smile Oct 31, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Singaporean | Halal

After school today, I dropped by Jurong Point for a while and came across....OLD CHANG KEE!
Decided to give the cheesy chicken sausage a try as I've heard good reviews about it.

I devoured the 4 pieces of sausage within 2 minutes!
It definitely was delicious and very cheesy lol
However, it was a little too oily though!
I suppose that's the norm in Old Chang Kee!

Other than that, no complains!
Great place to grab a snack from smile

Nasi Lemak! Smile Oct 31, 2011
Categories : Halal

I've been a fan of Qiji since it's opening many years ago.
Over the years, they've introduced many new dishes and sets which have all been delicious!
Along with that however, the prices have increased drastically!
When I first started buying Nasi Lemak from Qiji, it only cost $3 something. Now it costs $4.80!

Anyway the set that I ordered was the Nasi Lemak Set 7 which comprises Ikan Bilis with nuts, Egg, Otah, Chicken Cutlets and their sambal.
This set is pretty good in my opinion.
The Otah has always been my favourite dish of the Nasi Lemak from here. Probably one of the best Otah's I've ever tried!
The Ikan Bilis however has a tendency of being too salty at times.
The chicken cutlet can definitely be improved by cutting down on the layer of skin on it as by the time it is eaten, the skin is very soggy hence making the chicken taste not as good!

Other than that, the nasi lemak from Qiji is a must try!! smile

Curry Puff Cry Oct 31, 2011
Categories : American | Café

Today while at Smooch Cafe, I decided to give their Curry Puff a try instead of always ordering their drinks.
Their curry puff looked appealing as it was really huge, definitely way bigger than normal ones and cost only $1.50
I asked what filling was inside and was told that it contained potato and chicken.
I was however shocked when it was time to pay as I didn't get any change back when I paid with $2.
Upon asking the staff, he said it cost $2.
This was definitely frustrating as the sign showed $1.50 instead
They definitely should update their prices instead of misleading their customers!

Anyway when I first bit into the curry puff, the crust was very crispy and buttery and definitely tasted good.
However although the curry puff is huge, there is very little filling inside!
Also, the filling tasted rather sweet.

Definitely not very tasty except the buttery crust.
Won't be trying this again!!

Mixed rice, YUM! Smile Oct 30, 2011

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Food Court

I've always been a huge fan of mixed rice as not only does it have a wide variety, it's also very tasty, affordable and filling!
This Economical Rice stall is no different!

During lunchtime everyday, the queue at this stall is massive, sometimes stretching 10-15m long!!
Despite having to wait quite long when the queue is this long, it doesn't deter the customers from waiting.
That just shows how good the food is!

I patronise this stall rather often so I would know as well smile
On this day, I ordered the egg tofu, sweet and sour pork as well as garlic and ginger fish.
I can't remember the exact cost but the meal was less than $3.50
The egg tofu as always is really yummy and one of my favourite dishes to order when it comes to mixed rice!
The sweet and sour pork was a little hard but flavourful.
The ginger and garlic fish was in slices tasted good as well.

Overall, a very satisfying meal.
One that is affordable, filling and tasty! smile

It was lunchtime on a Thursday and the queues at all the stalls were rather long.
I was seated near the Miniwok stall and decided to give it a try!
Many people were ordering Set 1 but since I had no idea what it was, I ordered Set 4 instead which comprised Spicy Tofu + Fried Chicken with rice.

As each minute went by, the queue at this stall grew longer.
I had to wait about 3-5 minutes before my food was served.
The wait was definitely worth it!!

The food looked and smelled so good!!!
First, I tried the spicy tofu.
It was slightly spicy and flavourful and was really tasty.
Then I tried the fried chicken and goodness, I was speechless.
It was fried to perfection and was really crispy!
It wasn't those crispy but hard chicken but instead, it was crispy and yet juicy and tender all at the same time!
I was loving it and just couldn't get enough of either the tofu or chicken!
On top of that, the meal was also served with soup.

At only $3.50, this is definitely a meal worth every single cent!
It's no wonder the queue at this stall was getting longer so quickly!
It not only serves great food, it's very affordable and filling as well!

Am definitely going to patronise this stall more and try the other sets as well!!!! lol
