Addictive Mango Ice Smile Oct 16, 2011
Categories : Hawker Centre | Desserts and Cakes

When I was working around the area, I had a bowl of mango ice almost daily.

Their mango ice is different from what you get elsewhere. After the shaved ice, they layer on a generous dollop of mango puree, pour on carnation milk, place huge slices of mango on top before adding even more milk. What you get is a milky, sweet and delightful dessert. lol

Their ice is also shaved finely and melts easily in your mouth. A clear winner! Definitely worth the queue.

One of my preferred froyo brands Smile Dec 21, 2011

Sour Sally's froyo tastes a bit different from the other froyo stores around. It feels more like ice cream. There are a myriad of toppings to choose, but after trying out a few toppings, I realised I like Sally's bubbles. When you bite into each pearl, yoghurt bursts into your mouth. There're also different froyo flavours but I like the original and chocolate flavoured ones more.

Amazing coleslaw~ Smile Dec 21, 2011

I had this meal more than half a year ago, but I can still remember how the coleslaw tasted. That's how good it is. The vegetables used were fresh and it was ice cold when served. One taste and I could tell that it was definitely not factory made and served from that typical blue coleslaw container.

The chicken chop was also tender and succulent with a layer of crispy skin on top. If only I lived nearby.

The cafe is opened by two fans of Mayday, but they chose not to make it exclusively Mayday themed, but have instead used the cafe to promote local arts and music. The cafe is cosy enough for you to chill there the entire day, but of course, it doesn't hurt that the food is good too!
Crazy wings!

Crazy wings!

This is a must for me every visit. I love how the sauce (special secret blend okay!) complements the wings so well.
Homemade Iced Lemon Tea

Homemade Iced Lemon Tea

The iced lemon tea is lovingly home made and not from the syrups you get from elsewhere.

If you haven't been here before, make a trip down someday! You'll be charmed, like how I was.

Open secret Smile Dec 18, 2011

This laksa in Yishun is so well known, it's just known as "928 laksa". There's something different with this laksa that brings me back to this place. The soup base has shrimp mixed into it and it's spicy, yet not too overpowering. The soup base is thick, unlike other stalls with watery soup bases.
