Chicken Rice  OK Mar 26, 2012

Tried a plate of white chicken rice instead of their much acclaimed fried chicken wing rice for a change. Seems like they should stick to their fried chicken wing. The white chicken, though tender, lacks of much taste. It tastes quite awfully plain and the chilli sauce is almost too watery. The soup on the other hand, is worth mentioning. Very flavourful and sweet, the chicken broth is well made.

A hot spot for cab drivers and a stall old enough to call my father, this stall serves it’s loyal patrons economical rice of value. The dishes are not to shout for but they are fresh enough to address it as home cooked. The vegetables are crunchy are not overcooked, the bean sprouts were well done. The tofu was soft and not powdery.

Chicken Rice OK Mar 26, 2012

Portion wise, it is definitely worth the money. For chicken served separately, the portion is really reasonable. The meat is quite tender but the rice is just a little hard to my liking. More moisture would be great. All in, it’s quite a fulfilling meal along with the soup which has great taste.

Everything tastes rather decent. The noodle is nice and has the bouncy feeling. The soup is not salty but the sauce on the ingredients’ is. The pig skin was a little hard for my taste. The chilli sauce is really nice. The chilli padi is not just for show man.

When I first tasted this bee hoon, it was a taste that I could not describe, but my mouth just can’t stop taking bites at it. The bee hoon is not dry but not that oily. The bee hoon’s taste brings out the oyster sauce used and the tint of sweetness makes this bee hoon edible by itself.
