Bar food that never fails! Smile Jun 07, 2013

Out so many drinking holes, Brotzeit is one of those places that never fails me when you are hungry while having drinks. This was what happened to 4 very stressed working professionals. Lol. The guys had their beer and while faced with an array of delicious german sausages in the menu, we decided that its probably more economical to order the Brotzeit platter.

A very very glorious platter made up of their signature Pork Knuckle with crispy skin and fattening 'collagen' and flavourful lean meat nearer to the bone, a thin fillet of pork schnitzel in a fine batter, and a selection of german sausages. For $88, you get this platter of meaty goodness with your choice of 2 side dishes. With all that meat, of course we made the healthier choice to get sauerkraut and some sauteed mixed vegetables. Highly re

commended! TGIF!

Very filling and tasty Sharwarma Smile Jun 07, 2013

It was around 1030 pm on a weekday night and was looking for place to have a late dinner and drinks after work. There were a row of 'open restuarants' where Shiraz is selling bugers and pizzas and we settled for Shiraz's yummilicious sharwarma!

A sharwarma is a Middle Eastern style sandwich composed of shaved lamb, chicken, beef roasted on a rotisserie grill. There is a set that comes with fries at $12 Singapore for the chicken shawarma and you get to choose 2 sauce. I had their signature garlic yoghurt, and hummus, with an accompaniment of salad in toasted pita bread. It was very very yummy, filling and satisfying! the meat was juicy and the sauces were not overwhelming in taste. will definitely come back here when im looking for something affordable to eat late at clarke quay!

Great Korean ramen OK May 31, 2013

Categories : Korean

Came here for a corporate lunch so I didnt really take many photos. DIdnt want to look rude. Lol. I wanted something soupy so i ordered the korean seafood ramen. The quantity was huge and the noodles were very qq! Soup was very tasty and you can really taste the seafood in the broth. One thing i really liked was that they also added alot of vegetables in the noodles which makes it healthy. Having tried other korean places, i thought the sides dishes were so so only and not alot of varieties, mainly just kimchi, cucumbers and radish. With the array of korean food around tanjong pagar, I might give others a try before coming back.

Rabbit carrot gun at Pasar bella serves a variety of quiches, pies and cakes. Their quiches looked very lovely and is a meal on its own due to its huge slice. We were at pasarbella near 5 pm so not a lot of variety were left so we took the pumpkin quiche. It looked very lovely with huge chunks of pumpkin but my only gripe is it is served cold! Im not sure if we are supposed to eat it like this or we could request to heat it up. The quiche tasted very different from the others i have eaten because the cream part tasted too fresh, a firmer version of a custard/pudding and this made me feel that it fattening because imagine eating refrigerated cream! Other than that, the fillings were generous. I would try it again but probably not eat it cold anymore.

I've had friends who raved about Orange lantern to me before but being not really a friend of viet cuisine, the place didnt really come across my mind when im looking for a place to eat. However, as the vivocity food court is always crowded on weekends, I decided to give a harbourfront centre a try and finally had the chance to try out Orange Lantern.

In terms of environment, I must warn you that the seats are abit tattered and torn, menu had some pages torn out, but the affordable food price and quality makes up for the ambience. There were so many things i wanted to try and looking around at the other diners, all their food looks delicious! My bf tried the beef pho, which had a very very tasty broth and perfect for someone who wants to eat light. Another good thing is they are super generous with the slices of beef and beef balls, which made the dish very value for money.

I had the grilled chicken set, which i must say is good for variety, but taste wise, the chicken was alright only. If you look at the picture carefully, you will see this piece of grainy thing next to the chicken. This was actually a kind of meat loaf made from chicken and I really find it quite unique and tasty! As I don't like to eat rice, having eggs, chicken, meat load and some cucumbers very diet friendly as well. I would still recommend the pho though and will be back to try their summer rolls!
