Something different Cry Mar 05, 2013

Categories : Western Variety | Kids-Friendly

I tried something different on my last visit to Ikea Alexandra. By something different, I meant no meatballs and chicken wings! My friend and I were there for tea, and tried to order something healthy - the vegetable crepe. It was, to say the least, not very tasty. We couldn't even finish one of the two pancakes.

We then tried a dessert, the princess cake. It was too sweet and we couldn't finish half.

Overall, a disappointing triip to Ikea. We will definitely be back for the meatballs and chicken wings next time. However, the horse meat scare means that meatballs have been removed from the menu. sad

Passionfruit Icecream OK Mar 05, 2013
Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

The concept of how they make ice cream is rather cool. They do it using liquid nitrogen, and the fun part is that they do it at the counter (behind a glass panel) such that you can see the entire process.

I order passionfruit ice cream for $4.80. I felt that the price is a tad expensive for ice cream, if you compare to other ice cream cafes. Tastewise, the passionfruit was not bad.

I was more intrigued by a wall of cup designs though. Be sure to snap a pic while you're there!

Frog leg hotpot OK Mar 05, 2013

Categories : Sichuan | Restaurant | Zi Char

It was a rainy night and this bullfrog leg hotpot really hit the spot. However, frog legs tend to be rather bony so it was quite a hassle to eat. However, the meat was tender and the gravy was dark, rich and flavourfull. We added tofu and vegetables to our dish, and overall it came up to $48 for 2 people. This includes 2 drinks - ice lemon tea and a can of coke as well. While I think it's a tad expensive (the sign outside claims to be $24 for a pot), this was a satisfying meal.

winter melon bbt OK Mar 05, 2013

The winter melon bubble tea is not too bad, although i personally find it to be not sweet enough. Also, the pearls are rather soft and have no bite to them. Over all, the milk tea is rather satisfying as it is the cheapest you can find in NTU. Price-wise, it is around 2 bucks. I would recommend it as a good perk-me-up during lecture breaks. There is also hardly ever any queue at this stall. Service is fast, and the aunty is friendly smile

Enticing Donuts Smile Mar 06, 2013

Categories : Café

Donuts are always an excellent choice of food for teabreak. Since we can't get krispy kremes in Singapore, J.co is a good substitute for warm donuts smile

The donut on the top is "WHy Nut", while the one on the bottom is "Copa Banana". (sry for the bad lighting). Both donuts are delicious and are my favourite to get when i visit a J.Co outlet! lol

The cost about $3 altogether.
