Best Fried Chicken  Smile Nov 10, 2010

Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

I would always visit this outlet whenever I am at Changi Airport, or if I was waiting for my flight. Although it is always crowded especially during lunch/dinner periods, however, the thought of the fried chicken always wins me over to wait for a seat.

This fried chicken is so much better than its competitors. The first time my teeth sank into the meat, I was so shocked that it was so tender! There's hardly any fats on it, and it's really tender and delicious. The best part about the fried chicken is the skin. The skin is battered in flour and spices, but the flour component is not so thick that you can still taste the sweet aroma of the spices and the chicken. I love it! Moreover, the chicken used is really fresh as the meat tears easily from the bones, and best part... no fats and no blood on it!

Another recommendation there is the marsh potato. This is so unlike of its competitors as well.. probably the best marsh potato I have ever tasted. What is so great about it is that you can really taste the potato bits in the marsh potato, and there are lots of spices found in it, but the taste is not too overpowering as well. I love it!

As for the biscuit that every one loves, I realised that now they don't really give the strawberry jam anymore. I realised that the biscuit taste quite good with the Heinz chilli that they offer. However, it's definitely not something I'll remember much since it doesn't taste very good.

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Fine Dining

The last time i went to peach garden, I was impressed by the view of the cityscape from my our table.
It was a casual lunch for some dim sum.
We ordered the following:

Xiao Long Bao - Easy to eat as they place them on each individual spoon. I'll rate it 8/10.

Har Gao - To me i think its very normal. Not sure about the rest. 6/10
Siew Mai - Crunchy prawns sitting on the meat filling. Springy and nice. 8/10
Seaweed beancurd skin - Must try. 8/10
Cha Siew Bao -The buns tasted quite normal. But I like their charsiew. 6.5/10
Egg Tarts - Custard are not too sweet nor overpowering, crust are flaky and thin. One of the better dish on the table. 8.5/10

Service wise was prompt and attentive.

Overall it was a good experience at peace garden.

Healthy 'Semi-Buffet' Smile Nov 30, 2010

Sizzler are not just good at their steaks, infact I think they have done a better job at their salad bar range.
The salad came as a set with the main dish which I've ordered.
The meal start off with some soup from the bar. I had clam chowder which are pretty decent on it's taste. Thick and flavorful but short of sight of clams. .

Salad bar: I love their self assembled salad bar. Pretty comprehensive range for the setup, infact their salad bar is the highlight of the entire dining experience at sizzler.

Main course: Teriyaki and mustard chicken, I think it's just passable for me. Pretty light on terayaki taste. (or it's just me?)

I think this is somewhere I'd head if I'm feeling a little more 'health conscious' for the day.
Price wise, I think it's pretty reasonable for a healthier 'semi-buffet range.'

Halal buffet  Smile Nov 30, 2010

I went to Carousel with a group of my friends, with reservations booked for hi-tea at 3pm. The queue was already formed prior to the timing, and many people were already queuing there to get in. We were ushered to our seats, and we started to walk around the buffet area.

They had a wide spread of food, with a section for local cuisines as well as the Japanese area. We started with the sushi, as there was not much people around there, and they had a wide spread of salmon sashimi, and others like soba, udon etc. It was quite pleasing to the eye.

Moving on, we went to the local delights, where they had their usual, the dimsums as well as the noodles area, where we could choose to have the chef cook our noodles. It was also a wide spread, around 10+ different dishes. One good thing about this buffet was that there was this soup of the day, and it was not your usual western soup. We had herbal chicken soup, and it was really tasty!

Lastly, we saved our stomach for some dessert and tea. How can you say that your buffet hi-tea is over unless you had your tea? It was a nice get-together as well as great food for a value price there.

It's also one of the rare places that serves Halal buffet spread.
The tea to end it off...

Good Breakfast Selection Smile Nov 30, 2010

I think Coffee bean has a pretty good variety for breakfast.

I was here very early in the morning to catch a flight for a short business trip, having an hour to hang around, I decided to have my breakfast at this coffeebean outlet @ T3 before checking in.

I order an enormous egg &bacon sandwich set which comes with free flow of coffee/tea until 11am to perk me up!
great deal isnt it?
The sandwich was better than what I've expected. Generous melted cheese on the egg & bacon, I think it's much more worthy than all the fastfood breakfast around.
Free flow of gourmet coffee or earl grey tea, I dont think you can get any better deal out while waiting for an early flight at the airport.
