one of the few halal buffet places in singapore other than sakura. the restaurant itself is quite nice, quite cozy but the hotel itself is quite bad. the location itself is quite inaccessible especially when driving because of the bad traffic in chinatown area and the hotel looks quite run down too. as for the food wise, i think is more of a local style buffet rather than international buffet, most of the dishes tend to cater to local taste. the minestrone was quite bad, it has this gluey taste to it. the most interesting thing there is the kuay chap because there are no pork. the braised peanuts are nice but other ingredients are just average.

bengawan solo cakes and pastries are not bad especially their fruit cakes, they always look so attractive. the peranakan pastries, those kueh are nice too but tend to be too sweet for my liking. the store also sell egg rolls during chinese new year but the taste is just average, not as good as their other products

the best thing on swensens menu has to be the two hot plate dessert, rocky road and apple crumble. both of them just taste so good and sinful and my girlfriend just love the rocky road so much that normally we will order one whenever we visit the restaurant. as for the other main dishes they are not bad either so there is always something suitable for everyone

four leaves is one of the better bakery around and most of their buns taste quite nice. i like the concept of having those mini buns whereby you can mix and match and can try different kind of bread at one go. person favourite is the crossiant with ham, crossiant with egg mayo is not bad too but i prefer former. and i was told that four leaves is halal, so is a great place for our malays friends too

never try their bread nor cakes before because they do not look that appetitising especially the cakes. the icing just look so artifiical that it kind of turns me off. BUT prima deli has a redeming factor which is their nice waffle. i dont know what they put inside the waffle patter that makes it taste so nice. it has a great combination when eaten with peanut butter spread. just heavenly
