This was my first time visiting Junction 10 and the only restaurant that I wanted to try was the Porn restaurant. I went with my friends and we ordered quite a number of dishes. I really like the decor and ambience of the Porn's restaurant at Junction 10. They have this very funky and cool design. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all probably cause of the location but yet it was cosy. We couldn't decided what to order from the menu, there were so many choices. In the end we ordered the fried rice dishes, Phad Thai, green curry and the famous clear Tom Yum soup. All the dishes were alright. I didn't particularly like the green curry though. There was this very distinct strong lemon grass taste if I am not wrong. Other than that the Tom Yum soup was super spicy but it was so good. Glad that it was served over the steamboat pot so that it was hot. Overall, I enjoyed my food there and will visit it again.

Categories : Fusion | Hotel | Steaks and Grills

It was a lazy afternoon and I went to Global Kitchen for high-tea with my family as it was recommended by my sister. She expecially recommended the manyselection of tea and the wide buffet spread. The spread was mostly Asia cuisine from Siew Mai to Rojak, Laksa, Char Siew, Sushi and so on. They also have an assortment of sandwich selection and many desert selection of local kuehs and western cakes & muffins. I love the ice cream as you can feel the creaminess of the strawberry and it isn't too sweet.

It was my first time at Todai restaurant located at the basement of Marina Bay Sands. They have a wide food selection of Japanese, Korean, Italian etc. I tried the Escargot as well as the Oyster. Tuesday and Thursday are their Oyster night and I happened to be there on Tuesday. Apart from Oysters, they have a variety of seafood spread as well such as the snow crab, mussels, prawns. There was also a wide selection of different kind of Sushi and meat section as well as the dessert section. I really liked the pizza as well as the creme brulee and some of the cakes.

A taste of Korean BBQ at Kkongdon Smile Oct 17, 2013

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Korean BBQ

It my very first time trying out Kkongdon Barbeque and I was elated at the opportunity due to a company dinner. I was aware of Kkongdon Barbeque when I passed by Marina Square MRT linkway quite a number of times and have wanted to try out but never really got the chance. I did a search on Kkongdon to find out what it actually means, turn out the translation literally mean “best value for money” cause of its many varieties and Korean barbeque choices to choose from at a reasonable price. The restaurant’s décor is very simple modern hip Korean-ish. There is also a K-pop MTV video playing at the TV adjacent at the back which was pretty cool for K-pop lovers. Every table has a barbeque suction to minimize the barbeque smell from the barbeque. The barbeque plate was also very well thought of, it was titled so that it will drain the oil that came out from barbequing which was pretty smart.

Since it is for dinner, I actually went for the dinner set ($20.80++) which comprises of both lamb and pork belly. They have other sets to choose from as well. The pork belly was well marinated and tasted rich and flavourful. I could have more of this. It actually went well with the sesame sauce and spicy red pepper sauce that is meant for the barbeque items. The Lamb was also good too, although it was marinated with a lot of pepper which was overpowering initially. The waiter actually helped to bring it back to wash it to reduce the spiciness. After which I enjoyed the lamb very much. It was actually quality meat, fresh and tasted delicious. You definitely can tell the difference.

When you dine there you are also entitled to the Salad vegetable bar which comprises of many authentic Korean vegetables which is very good in complementing the barbeque. There is quite a decent selection to choose from ranging from Kimchi, Cabbage, Kelp, Lotus roots, Lettuce, Bean sprouts and Radish etc. All these were free flow!

The set actually came with a small plate of Korean Rice Cake and a Chicken Bean paste stew soup (Miso Soup). The Korean Rice Cake was good but I thought the sauce of it was pretty diluted. It would have been perfect if it was less watery. As for the Bean paste stew soup, it came bubbling hot and had many ingredients such as tofu, chicken bites, golden mushroom and some vegetables. There was a tinge of spiciness but it was tasty and warmth with every slurp.

I really enjoyed my time there perhaps because I went with a group. This place is definitely great for group gathering and hangout. Would definitely go back and recommend this place if you are craving for authentic Korean barbeque at affordable price.

Dinner at The Rotisserie Smile Sep 29, 2013

Categories : Burgers and Sandwiches

I have known The Rostisserie for its reasonable and deliciously priced roast chicken as well as the pork knucke. I ordered the quarter chicken ($11.90) this time around and you actually get to choose three sides to go along with it. They are a few choices and I picked the baked cauliflower, mash potato and corn. I love the tenderness of the chicken and how the sauce goes with it. Side were made delicious and made fresh as well. In additional, I even ordered a chicken salad to go along with it. With all the sides that goes with it, I was really full to the brim. It will be perfect if the chicken was served hot. Apart from this I took the alfresco seat cause it was quite packed indoors. I thought it will be quite warm with the Singapore weather but to my surprise, it was actually pretty windy. Enjoyed my dinner throughly and I would definitely want to try their breakfast one day as well.
