Servings for Giants? Smile Mar 08, 2013

The House of Robert Timms is big. My impression was just an indoor cafe, but apparently the alfresco area is big and wide.
But unfortunately it was like as hot as an hell that afternoon, so aircon please!

The service staff were friendly but not that attentive though. Took them a while to catch our attention.
Anyway, the first thing that caught my eye was the seize of their macaroons and their carrot cake. I remembered telling my friend that i would look like a mouse holding on to that macaroon to eat.

Since both of us weren't hungry, we ordered a couple of main sides and warm beverages. Like what my titles said, are the servings here for Giant sized people? The Cheesy Bolgnoise Criss cut Wedges portion was huge. It is definitely not a side dish i tell you! And we were not expecting the Calamari Rings to be the same as well. Loved how the place here is generous with the portion,

The Caramel Coffee was just heavenly for me.. Im definitely definitely definitely coming back here again!

The best that i ever had Smile Mar 08, 2013

I was told that this is the best Beef Noodle that you can find in Singapore. I only had my fix once so I give this a try.

There's 2 types of Beef Noodles to try out for. The dry and soup version. Honestly the dry beef noodles kinda turn me off. So i opted for the soupy one with Kway Teow. They have 3 different bowl serving, if im not mistaken, they have $3/4/5. I bought the smallest portion, just in case i didnt fancy it. I think you can ask for the beef meatballs and the bones as well but of course, there's extra charge. We were there during lunch time, and the q had like 5-8 people but we only waited for not more than 20 mins.

Maybe i came prepared with zero expectations, but i was surprised how tasty and rich in flavor the soup was. I added the whole serving of chilli sauce in it with a bit of lime to get more kick. The beef slices were tender and was easy for me to chew. I was impressed by this tiny portion of bowl. I rarely finished up my lunch but this time, you cant find any noodle or let alone soup left. Yes it was that good, for me!

The sad thing is, i stay all the way at the east.. and this is in the north... but.. if i ever have any friends to show singapore around for, this is one of the first few place i would bring for them to try the local food..

Crunch crunch  OK Mar 08, 2013

Not a fan of popiah, but when someone offers you some.. well you be polite and chuck them in your mouth then.
A colleague got this during lunch, apparently its one of the few popular popiah stalls.

First impression, it looks like any other normal popiah. Looks pretty dry to me. Like there wasn't enough black sauce to it.
The popiah is crunchy. It was really easy to chewy since the vegetables were fresh. Its wasnt bad for me, was actually suprisingly good. Will defintely order this again IF im around the area.. which is like once in a blue moon!

Everytime anyone walks pass this cafe... the strong rich smell of their waffles tempts you to make a stop and get you q-ing for their ice cream! That is what happened to me!

Cold stone really have a looooong list of ice creams to choose from. I forgot what mine was but it consist of caramel, walnut and brownies and yes coffee! In the beginning you would thought.. hmmm the regular size wont be enough but honestly.. i cant finish at least 3/4 of it. The waffles was sweet and cripsy.. love the smell!

This is prata? Cry Feb 28, 2013

Categories : Indian | Restaurant

This place seems to be popular, but i dont really get why.

Based from my own experience, the prata was not satisfying at all. Served luke warm, the prata was definitely not crispy.
And it was really paper thin. I dont recall ordering paper prata so that was suprising.

When i was there with my friends, it was, what looked like almost a full house. Hmm maybe i choose the wrong dish on the menu?
