Today ordered 8 items but was charged $2.60. Why? Aunty said I got 7 items (30 cents each) + tang hoon (50 cents each). The tang hoon is put together with the rest on the display shelf and its special price is not stated on the sign board. (Please note that rice, bee hoon, laksa soup all have the prices stated on the board).

As smooth as silk Smile Jun 06, 2013

Lao Ban Soya is one the few big names in Singapore well known for their Soya Beancurd.

A few months back when it was newly situated along Tampines MRT, passerby would notice customers making a bee line for this shop and Almond flavored Soya Beancurd would be out of stock before evening sets in. A few months later, all you have to do is walk in get what you want and you are out within 5 secs. Their service are fast. But are the soya beans that good?

I tried the almond flavored, it is soft and silky with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Aaah.. the simple pleasure in life!
You can get them for only $2 per tub. Original flavour will be cheaper, it's $1.50.

Worth A Try! Smile Jun 03, 2013

One of the many halal cafe in Far East Plaza, this warung ( a type of small family-owned business — often a casual shop, usually café — in Indonesia and Malaysia) promises to not burn your pocket.

Its not as cheap as Isle cafe, but it is indeed generous with their servings. For only $5, you can get at least one big plate of rice, any meat dishes and 2 servings of any other non meat side orders.

My favorite dish would be the Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Padi. It is a rich yellow coconut gravy that is cooked with really tiny cili padi. Really worth the try, and to add more kick to that flavor, i recommend you to eat it with sambal belacan. Its a killer I tell you! tongue

Another disappointment.. again Cry Jun 03, 2013

Shouldn't have decided on East Coast Lagoon Food Village for dinner on weekends. If need to, better come earlier than 7.30pm. The crowd here is just insane. We had to scout for vacant seats like a hawk and its not a good feeling to be watched when you are eating for those people too.

Ordered Muuton Chop From this stall, and it's very very super super disappointing. The mutton that was given, were cut into cubes and its smaller than the size of your thumb huffy It was served with little gravy, a sunny side up, a mere handful of barely there fries and 2 thin slices of baguette. The total cost of this plate of misery is $6.

The mutton cubes were a turn off and not surprisingly, hard to chew as well. I couldn't bring myself to finish up the plate. A few bites of i just pushed it aside. Such a disappointment.

Not the same but worth the try! Smile Jun 03, 2013

Whoever tried the macaroons from Le Paris and would like to compare it so Singapore's. Do not bother. Its not the same, for me personally it lacks of the flavor.

I ordered the same thing that i had from Paris, minus the Rose Petal.. The Lemon Citrus & the Chocola

te flavor (Cant recall the name)

I really feel that that the Lemon Citrus wasn't as sour as the one I had in Paris. Same goes for the Chocolate flavored macaroon. I didn't get that chocolaty flavor as i did before. Apart from that, the filling was generous, and the macaroon's shell was smooth, crisp and even. I love every bite of it those pastel colored pastries. Marie-Antoinette is my new favorite next to Rose Petal.

One of these heavenly pastries can cost you about $3.80 each, probably the priciest macaroon you can find in Singapore at the moment. A box of 6 cost me $32. The box that comes with that 6, is not for free do take note!
I got a shock that i had to pay an additional of $9.20 for that box. $9.20 I tell ya!! shockedshocked
