This evening, after swimming, I feel like taking some desserts and step into this food court to look for cold desserts.

The stall provides various cold and hot desserts which are shown clearly on the board. I have no difficulty to order the dessert I want, Ice Jelly. Here the friendly staff is quite speedy and skillful to present the customer' order.

The agar agar (jelly) is my favor cold dessert. Large amount of jelly look so clear and fresh cover with ice, squeezing with lime juice on top round of it. I like the lime juice taste and ask for more pieces as the staff is very generous to give without any doubt.

It tastes really delicious. The price is $1.60 per bowl.

I found this mixed vegetable rice stall in Down Town East' Food court. They provided very economic mixed rice. The vegetable looks very fresh and the stall chef is capable to fry the local home dishes and the taste is delicious and yummy. I order the rice with Broccoli, eggplant and bitter gourd. Their fried eggplant is the best and the taste is very delicious. It considers healthy food. The children like their chicken curry very much. We enjoy eating the mixed vegetable rice very much.

They charge at $2.90 for three selections of vegetables with rice.

KOPI AND KAYA OK Aug 09, 2012

KAYA & KOPI

This Toast box is newly located at Tampines 1 which is quite spacious.

I feel hungry after my morning exercise. I decide to take my breakfast. I order the famous Nanyang Kopi and Kaya. Extract from their advertisement ''Toast Box Coffee Brew revolutionary good ole Nanyang Coffee and their signature traditional Nanyang Kopi, which we fondly call in Southeast Asia, is still the quintessential beverage.'' and ''In the mornings on a sweet, fragrant note of the kaya will attest to that.''

I cannot resist to our traditional sweet honey-flavored Hainanese Kaya spreads on the toast bread with a cup of milk coffee. As what I know this is not a very healthy breakfast, but it is alright to pamper you once a while.

The price for Kaya is $1.40 and $1.50 for Hot Kopi.

The price of milk coffee is $1.50 and Kaya is$1.40. Kick-start your day with a cup of good ole Nanyang.

CHAR SIEW WANTAN NOODLE OK Aug 09, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Food Court | Noodles

Today, I lunch in Downtown East Hub. I order the dry Char Siew and wantan Noodles.

The stall lady is very friendly and generous to serve a big plate of Char Siew and wantan Noodles, although I ask for extra char Siew, charge $0.50 more. I would say that it is a reasonable price for such a large plate.

The Char Siew is a bit crispy and tender and the wantan is tasty. The best thing I appreciated is plenty of vegetable given. I am always a vegetable-Cai Sim Lover.

The total price is $4.00 per plate.

BLACK FOREST OK Aug 09, 2012

This Confectionery shop is located at Downtown East Hub Level 1.

Today, I decide to get a cake to celebrate our Nation 47th Birthday Aug 9 2012. I go to one of our local oldest confectionery, Prima Deli to buy this nostalgic black Forest cake which is generously filled with sweet dark cherries laced with chocolate fresh cream sandwiched between layers of rich yet light chocolate sponge. Extract from their Advertisement 'Magically yummy yet light with the right sweetness!'

After eating it, this beautiful sponge cake, is tastes very soft and have a good combination of the cherries and chocolate. It is delicious as before.

I personally find that it is a bit sweet to me; if the sweetness can be reduced it will be perfect.

The price is $39.80 per 1 kg.
